Should’ve won in 15 and competed (despite the score, Stoops wanted to bury us and it didn’t happen) in 14. We’ll be much better than either of those teams...and I’ll be there to document it.

It just isn't good timing. We're rebuilding. Our rivals play garbage OOC teams. We're playing a playoff team in a rebuilding year. Stinks.

Somebody help restrain Bass

On the good news front, linebacker JJ Peterson had a better session of practice during the open portion today. He was very engaged, energetic, and didn’t seem to have any issues with his conditioning today despite it being very muggy and only partly cloudy.

We schedule these games years in advance and situations change on a dime. I remember all the Tony Basilio inspired wailing and gnashing of teeth from scheduling (and playing) Oregon and Oklahoma. Net result? We got outscored...no brutalizing or bleeding. We’ll be in year 3 and can’t hide behind that “rebuilding” dress forever. Give a crap about who our RIVALS schedule. We take care of us.

I know both fans enjoy it. But, it's a bit of an advantage. Neither school gets to play at each other's home stadium and they basically get 3 true road games every other year.

I just hate it when young people are written off with the word never. A kid was told by a grammar school teacher that it was a good thing his dad owned a truss company because he would never be able to get a job. He is a judge in our county now.

It's also very possible, maybe even likely that their coach is in the NFL by then and they're not as dangerous as you assume. Either way I love games against the best. You don't get on ESPN Classic by playing against bad Virginia teams.
