Vols Practice Thread #1

Let me help you guys out. The Vols finish the season 5-7 again and don't go to a bowl game. There I saved you months of agony.

Not even close, it largely depends on the difficulty of the position, but UT has seen its share of 5 star busts, no doubt about it
Part of being classified as a 5* is that you are ready to start as a Freshman. If analyst don't think you are ready to start then you don't get a 5th star. They have had that as a requirement ever since the ranking systems came out. Both of those guys will start on the OL THIS season.

I think this means they coached during the years of 2006 and 2007. That’s why some of the stints like the Pitt position or the Tennessee Interim or the TE position only shows one year my friend.
2008 was listed separately...so he coached only TE’s THAT season...buddy, pal, compadre...

I realize that dude. You were saying Chaney only coached OL one year for the Rams in response to me saying he coached two. My point was to say he did indeed coach OL two years and TE one.

Here is where you said no, he coached OL one year. Then you said it is clearly defined he coached only one year.

But see here where it says:

“Chaney also spent three years in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams”

This shows he coached 2 seasons as OL.

Tennessee hires Georgia’s Jim Chaney as offensive coordinator

And you posted he ONLY coached OL in the pro’s. We’re tied.

“Chaney has a lot of OL experience. That is THE ONLY POSITION GROUP HE COACHED IN THE PROS I believe.”

Thanks for clearing that up.

I already admitted to that. Guess we were both stuck in debating two different points. But now I see where you are coming from. Yes I was wrong and you were wrong. Soooo back to the point I was trying to make, he coached a boat load of OL and it is a very good thing he is spending some time on our OL.

Posted almost that same complete point before. DeBord gets heat, but he got the most out of that flawed system and even more flawed OL because of his experience with OL’s. Chaney’s better because of his acumen with QB’s. Win win.

Yeah looks like he has at least 3 more years vs Chaney. Maybe more, what is AOL? Assistant OL coach? Regardless, I do remember a loooot of rushing yards behind his line at UT. I enjoyed it. That said, I can’t help but wonder how much of that should be contributed to Dobbs, Hurd and Kamara.
