Yep, no way to stop this through any government action or laws. Until hearts are changed, senseless killing will continue whether by Gun, Truck, Airplane, Bomb, Knife, etc. While expanding background checks to cover the private sales between individuals who are not firearm dealers might prevent certain acts of gun violence, there is not evidence that it would have prevented the recent mass shootings.
Hint: They bought their guns through a dealer.
I'm not sure it is fixable to be honest. At least not to the degree that the left wants it fixed. Life is not fair. Some people will not get what others have. By the same token, some of those 'have nots' if you will, continue to shoot themselves in the foot. I find it interesting that poor people always have enough money for cigarettes. How is that? They always have enough money for multiple children, unti it comes to feeding them and providing... well anything. But they have new rims on that car or a big TV. Or a grocery cart full of crap. Or beer. How would you recommend fixing the healthcare issue?
How do you plan on covering private sales?? Lol.While expanding background checks to cover the private sales between individuals who are not firearm dealers might prevent certain acts of gun violence, there is not evidence that it would have prevented the recent mass shootings.

You're not going left without a fight. Maybe it's that mentality against progress in the internet age that stokes people like you to call luther a communist on internet forums.I never disputed that claim by Luther. He's communist and he froths at the mouth that we are moving in that direction. It will collapse before we get there though. Perhaps the strongest argument for keeping whatever firearms we can.

I do know that giving it away for 'free' is no kind of answer because the behavior that causes the lack of ability to pay for any of it will not change. THAT is what you need to target, and not everyone's wallet just so that you can feel good about doing something. I will be interested to know what you as an MD will do to help when you are out there in the world. Will you donate a day of your time to administer to those people that can't afford it or will you insist on being paid for every minute of your time/services? imho, you SHOULD be paid for that time, in exactly the same way that I shouldn't be working for free to pay for their healthcare.
Didn't you read the article? The gist is that mass shooters purchase their guns legally at gun dealers and not through private sales and the current proposed BG check legislation to include private sales would be ineffective at preventing mass shootings. How do you plan on covering private sales?? Lol.

Liberals think you do until it's on them to pay the bill. I think every lib out there that wants illegals to come here should sponsor one and provide them room and board. You don’t have a universal right to somebody else’s labor.
