Mass Shooting in Ohio

Connor Betts: Twitter Posts on Being a Leftist, Guns | Heavy.com

Connor Betts, the Dayton, Ohio mass shooter, was a self-described “leftist,” who wrote that he would happily vote for Democrat Elizabeth Warren, praised Satan, was upset about the 2016 presidential election results, and added, “I want socialism, and i’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding.”

Betts’ Twitter profile read, “he/him / anime fan / metalhead / leftist / i’m going to hell and i’m not coming back.” One tweet on his page read, “Off to Midnight Mass. At least the songs are good. #athiestsonchristmas.” The page handle? I am the spookster. On one selfie, he included the hashtags, “#selfie4satan #HailSatan @SatanTweeting.” On the date of Republican Sen. John McCain’s death, he wrote, “f*** John McCain.”

On Nov. 2, 2018, he wrote: “Vote blue for gods sake.”

“This is America: Guns on every corner, guns in every house, no freedom but that to kill,” he wrote in December 2018. And, “’Tis! The pistol is a Beretta 93R, called the REK7 in BO4. Do love me some guns!” He also wrote, “Hammer, brick, gun.” On Feb. 14, 2018, he tweeted this at Sen. Rob Portman: “@robportman hey rob. How much did they pay you to look the other way? 17 kids are dead. If not now, when?” That was the date of the mass shooting at a school in Parkland, Florida.

That’s all according to his Twitter page, which was reviewed by Heavy. The Twitter page gives the first public glimpse into the shooter’s politics, and what he wrote stands pretty much in polar opposite to accused El Paso shooter Patrick Crusius, whose own social media accounts indicated support for President Donald Trump and anti-immigrant measures, such as the border wall. You can read about Crusius’s pages here.

So this psycho was also a leftist. Are libs supposed to adjust their policy decisions based on his political beliefs??

The leftist libs in this place try desperately to hitch every shooter's wagon to Trump, but crickets when the shooter is a leftist Warren Supporter. So they clearly know it's a cheap shot and disingenuous, but don't let that get in the way of their shallow thought process.

I knew he was a leftist because he liked metalcore enough to buy band merch

At some point people has to pass on warning flags to authorities. Him getting kicked out of school for a kill list should have put him on many agencies radar.

This is the type of stuff that needs fixed, not banning guns.
Hate to sound like an old man yelling at kids to get off my grass but at some point society has to come to terms with what we allow and enable in our society and how our culture influences weak minded people which are a growing population. I love gorey movies, violence in music and movies and video games, etc, but I understand it's not real and at times excessive. These people born in the 90s have been inundated with this stuff their entire lives and I'd be willing to wager its impact on their mental health has probably been profound.

Why no major mass shootings like we see now in the 80s and before? We had the same guns. What's different culture wise? Less violence in movies, tv, entertainment in general.

Now a kid can go watch someone get beheaded online, or rip spines out of people on the xbox. Access to bad sh!t and violence is all to easy now. Personally I dont mind that stuff but I'm not a crazed participation trophy culture person easily influenced by pop culture.

Now get off my damn lawn.

I know you guys want this to be analogous to the El Paso shooter, but it's not. The victims in Ohio do not appear to have been targeted for political reasons, let alone political reasons associated with Sanders and Warren. The opposite is true in El Paso. The victims were clearly targeted because he hated Hispanics and thought they were invading Texas. These are similar to what Trump has said.
