There is no doubt that there are warning signs. But we also have to remember, this is the kids FIRST fall camp. He was even injured in the spring and couldn't go 100%. He might not have it mentally, we don't know. But he has 4 years left in this program. To write him off this early is unfair

I'm certainly not writing him off. My concern is the nature of what is holding him up. I think it's mostly mental, and I don't mean intellect.

Has this guy seen their schedule?

Bama, atm, Clemson, Ga, and then the other teams in the east. What is he thinking? They'll be lucky to win 6 with this schedule. If we beat them I think they go 5-7

Gamecocks have an 8 win ceiling this year IMO. That said, I think they give us a tougher game than Missouri does.

8 wins is their absolute ceiling. But I don't see them beating Fl or Mizzou and I think we finally end the Muschamp streak over us at home this year as well. As long as we can keep Bama from beating us 2 weeks in a row that is. But they also play FL the week before us too.

I am very sad to report that the damage to my cousin's brain is too severe for him to wake up. We could keep him alive indefinitely if we give him a permanent breathing tube and feeding tube but have decided him to make him comfortable and to let nature take its course. My family is very appreciative of the thoughts, prayers and well wishes that we have received from all of you. Thank you.
I am so sorry.

I don’t know why everyone is so high on Missouri. Didn’t they lose basically their entire OL from last season? I’m not ready to anoint Kelly either; I think there are a number of QB’s around the country that could’ve been plugged into that 2017 Clemson offense and would’ve put up similar or better numbers. Best the Tigers could do last year was 8 wins, and I won’t be surprised to see them take a step back offensively.

Ok guys sorry for being so argumentative. I’ve compared the rosters and here is some info that is worth considering when talking about our roster size.

2016 is the most recent roster I used for comparison.

DL size-I used the edge rushers in this for the 2019 data.

2016- ave weight 281 pounds
2019- ave weight is 280 pounds.

Interior DL:
2016- ave weight 294
2019-ave weight 298

LB- I didn’t include the edge Rushers for the 2019 average
2016- 230 lbs on average
2019- 234 lbs on average

OL- massive difference here:
2016- 297 lbs on average
2019- 309 on average

I used utsports to get the weights.

So are we bigger??? Hell year we are. Huge difference on the OL, no difference overall on the entire DL, and some modest gains with our size on the interior of the DL and at LB.

I thought our LBers size gain would have been more but a guy like Page keeps that average down. I doubt he ever contributes

The biggest difference could be bad weight vs good weight.

I think the biggest difference may not be weight as much as body composition. Our DL may be similar weight from years past, but with Fitz the composition seems to be different.

Bruin has gone through various phases of tolerance and intolerance with me over the years. Not seeing his posts at present. You know what that means. I wonder whether I should give him another chance?
Dont do it. He took the one thing that EVEYRONE else has applauded, size upgrades, and is poo pooing it from what I can tell by the responses. Typical Bruin. Many people continue to take his bait, not sure why.
