Because BV came in crying about posts saying we look better this year and he’s seen the same posts for a decade. Glasses broke scenario.

As a fanbase we're in a weird place. Been sold snake oil before and I don't blame folks for being hesitant and sticking with their 6/7-win predictions.

Size can't be overstated and can be substantiated, but still, we have a buncha unknowns. But comparing our 2019 guys to Kongbo and KMac, who had no leadership and accountability from coaches, is unfair.

Tldr: meh

Somewhere I missed that post. Maybe blocked by my ignore list. Was wondering what the hubbub was about.

I think we’re much bigger than I’ve seen in a long while. Doesn’t mean I think we’re winning 10 ballgames. But I do think we are a lot bigger. I’m personally much more excited about watching a big, physical football team than a bunch of scrawny quitters that don’t mind getting shoved around by Vanderbilt and ruining my Thanksgiving break every year.

And for whatever reason, I had either taken him off ignore or stopped scrolling past.

He's just being the same old him, no one to blame but myself.

Got pushed around...that’s size and strength. Was fast and quick but at a disadvantage when it came down to the nitty gritty. Tuttle beasted before he got cheap shotted but the other interior DL got no push. K-Mac was fat until his junior year so that’s where you managed to get confused.

That 15 defense wasn’t perfect but we all better hope this years defense is as good. If so we can have a great year. That was a very solid D

More important question than arguing with the brick wall that is Bruin, is there practice today?

Bruin has gone through various phases of tolerance and intolerance with me over the years. Not seeing his posts at present. You know what that means. I wonder whether I should give him another chance?

All I know is, the 247 podcast, with guys who literally see these dudes in person and not on video or in pictures, have spent 15-20 minutes talking about how amazed they are that we are so much bigger even since the spring
They are bigger and much stronger. Don’t argue with idiots.

Careful. And admit it, it's kinda fun to watch the shadow boxing.

They mentioned on the podcast something that was obviously true: our guys were pushed around by Mizzou and Vandy last year. At the end of the season they were worn out obviously, but even Vandy and Mizzou were stronger than our guys. So they just pushed us wherever they wanted to go on both lines of scrimmage. They said it, and I agree, I don't foresee that happening to this group. They aren't going to be pushing Gooden, Butler, Williams, Simmons, Solomon, Wright, Morris, and others around. Those guys are monsters.

Not going to belabor the point, but 1 year later, I still think JJ Peterson will not be more than a slight contributor.

Reasons are known already. Hope I’m wrong. Carry on

Seem like he is physically capable, but something is clearly holding him back. That could change, but with passing time seems less likely.

There is no doubt that there are warning signs. But we also have to remember, this is the kids FIRST fall camp. He was even injured in the spring and couldn't go 100%. He might not have it mentally, we don't know. But he has 4 years left in this program including this one. To write him off this early is unfair

I’m not willing to say it’s all fixed and we won’t have similar problems this year. I’m just saying it’s obvious we’ve made huge strides in that area.

It isn't all fixed. But the problem against those teams won't be size and strength, imo. The OL still needs to improve, but physically they'll be able to hold their own.
