One more thing on CFA. This isn't a knock on Banks, I think he has a lot of tools to become a solid RB, just comparing him because 1) some are enamored with him (rightfully so, I love his POTENTIAL), and 2) they have the exact same number of carries. Yes JB was only a FR, though 45/52 of CFA's carries are from his first 2 years.

Banks: 52 carries 185 yards (3.6 ypc)
P5 opps 19 carries 54 yards (2.8)

CFA: 52 carries 309 yards (5.9)
P5 opps 45 carries 260 yards (5.8)

Again, nothing to do with Banks other than a means of comparison. Just hoping CFA gets more touches. He's earned it through his actual gameplay imo. Maybe he's just not a practice guy.
I think it was opponent expectations. I believed there was a high chance of Banks running and opposing DCs would plan for that.
But seems we threw a lot when CFA would enter. He got several big yardage plays to raise his ypc but I believe we caught opponents off guard, often.
Maybe you can double check but that's how I remember it anyway.

I think some are undervaluing Chaney coming in from a playcalling perspective. Helton was inconsistent at best. You take a look at the Florida game and he called chicken**** plays because he didnt trust anyone to work through it. Chaney has seen it, been through it a million times and will call plays to set up plays later on.
Helton never could figure out how to help his QB and Oline. Chaney will.

What’s a better strategy:

Being honest with a kid and saying “we want to see you work on X Y & Z before we can promise you a spot”

Or

Taking a commitment on a kid you’re not sold on and then have to do the awkward “git shirt” issuance and risk burning bridges with the kids school?

In a perfect world, the first would be the best. But the kids change their minds so much these days that I don't think you can hold the staffs to a different standard. Our current staff already did it with Jordan Davis in this class.

I am not a favor of letting someone go right before signing day, but I absolutely understand why some schools take a few guys early to lock them in and then continue to recruit guys higher up the board.

Injuries and switching positions have held CFA back. He's coming off surgery that cost him the spring and is supposed to be full-go for camp. If he can stay healthy (and not fumble), we could sure use his speed. Chaney likes those sweeps out of the backfield, and CFA could be the guy.

I really hope so. CFA is one of the players I have been rooting for since he got here because Everytime I see him run he runs with so much force. His speed burst once he gets the ball is really quick he just usually got tripped up or hit because the OL wasn't blocking well or he was light in size. Now he looks like an NFL back and I'm sure his explosiveness is the same. Dude can do it and I hope he does.

Just had the Chili’s 3 for $10 deal last week. Not sure why we are still posting from our current locations and not a Chili’s

Game changer IMO. My wife, my oldest daughter, and I all get the 3 for 10. Wife and I get salads for our app and oldest gets chips and salsa for the fam. #thatshowyouwin

My brain can only handle 1 cycle at a time. Do we have any shoe-in elite guys for any 2021? Any Treys, Kahlils, Cades(*cough*) in there?

Braves just choked away a 4-1 lead going into 8th thanks to a crappy pen. Now to extra innings. If they had an elite closer, the game is probably over. And they still haven’t made a move for a proven closer and won’t. They are stupid. They have the offense and almost enough starting pitching to contend, but fall way short with relief pitching. Have made 1 move.

So, I’ve decided I’m ready for some UT football and

Yeah I wish there was a play by play breakdown, but idk where without painstakingly building one out. I would be interested in RBs' opportunity rate (4+ yard gains by S&P+). I know Pruitt has mentioned this before as one of his own measuring sticks. As you say, 1 or 2 big runs (not that we don't loove those) could skew YPC. I think opportunity rate can be a nice balancing stat.

But expectancy is certainly a good point and Banks had the displeasure of only having 1 season under his belt in the most predictable offense ever seen.

Im watching the game on my dvr, in the 6th inning. Thanks.
