I could careless if she insults Trump, it's the cool thing to do if your a celebrity and I haven't said anything about the other 2,000 so called celbs voicing their opinions. It also has nothing to do with her sexuality so nice try again. Look at her during her speech and the event in NYC yesterday. She is always wanting the attention on her and every time they tried to honor one of her teammates she had to be front and center dancing and acting like a idiot. She's an attention whore plain and simple. For the record I think the whole dropping the flag was an ACCIDENT when they was caught up in the celebration but it still shouldn't happen, especially after you have protested our anthem and blasted our president and country.

I do think there’s a difference in platform. If she was using a platform supported by a private entity, such as a professional team, or her own time, then have at it.

However, as a member of a US national team, I think she would’ve been better advised to have been at least neutral during the World Cup. “I have many views and opinions on those topics, but right now I’m here with my teammates to try and win the World Cup for the United States.”

Maybe some would’ve seen it as a cop-out. But I imagine she would have overall gained a larger audience to her cause.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. Megan Rapinoe was looking to garner attention for an issue she believes in and she did.

If she truly cared about her "issues" and wasn't a child, she would go to the Whitehouse and show respect (as well as Donald), then ask for 5 minutes of Donald's time to talk about her grievances. Adult thing to do, and in this time of emotionally fragile people, it will show that no matter the "disgust" or vitriol, we can sit down and at least speak to one another respectfully face to face, and worst that comes from it is we're back to square 1 and at least we tried.

It's a way more positive PR move and hopefully would allow for many others in this country to see some civility and decency regarding emotionally charged issues.
