I'm considering YouTube TV also. But I don't have a Smart TV or a video game system. Is there another way? I mean, without hooking up my laptop and controlling it thru that? Something that would allow me to use a remote, etc.?
If you have a modernish flat screen, it should have an HDMI slot or two in the back. If it does, use a Roku stick and run it through that imo. The TV doesnt have to be a smart TV to run it, just have the slot. Both Roku and Fire sticks have small remotes to control them.

Wife and I were wanting to switch to the YouTubeTV from DirectTV but hadn’t tried it yet. Apparently ABC channel isn’t available for the moment on DirectTV because of a contract issue so my wife downloaded YouTubeTV and started a week trial for tonight so she could watch The Bachelorette. Watched a little bit of the Home Run Derby, great picture. No buffering issues. Easy interface. Good stuff so far. Time to get rid of DirectTV.

I have Direct TV as well and been doing research on you tube TV. My problem is my internet sucks and I'm not sure if it would work. I'm able to stream games on ps4 and stream with a fire stick. But, I have horrible internet speed with century link.

First time on the board. Been following for a while. Many thanks to Freak for moderating. You do a great job.
Be patient with my mistakes in posting. I'm an old man. My first time in Neyland was 1964 Miss St game which we lost by a point (it wasn't that close). Have seen incredible games and horrible losses. Worst time in my Vols life was when I was in the Navy for 8 years and couldn't get home for any games. (Flight training and then overseas deployments.)
I want a team of players who want to be Vols. I remember Al Wilson inviting a defensive lineman that outweighed him by 80 lbs to go out to the parking lot and "discuss" his lack of effort at practice and Hacksaw Reynolds sawing his jeep in half after the Archie Manning Ole Miss loss (which BTW I know one of the great secrets about why that happened).
WBO is short for World's Biggest Orangeneck, borrowed from a friend who died of cancer before he was 50 and who lived and died with every Tennessee game (I gave him my tix for the Miracle in South Bend because I had to go on Reserve duty (I retired from the Reserves).
Looking forward to getting to know you guys because deep down, we all love the Big Orange.

Best introductory post ever. Welcome to the board.

Studying the very same move as well. Losing patience with DirecTV. I've got it down to YouTube and Apple.

This guy is older than me. Please start directing your old dude jokes at this guy. TIA.

Just kidding... Welcome to the board. You have already shown a modicum if intelligence by posting in the recruiting forum. If you are in a room with @Orange Studs rest assured, you are the smartest man in the room.
Oh Snap! Its WAFFLE HOUSE TIME !! Knife fight time!

If you can stream from the fire stick with no issues then you should be fine. Download the free trial and see how it does.

For us it was down to Hulu and YouTubeTV. We’re choosing YouTube just because of the unlimited DVR. They had basically the same channels but Hulu had a capped storage for the DVR.

Speaking of BYU, the clowns in the media and elsewhere will probably push the story-line that BYU beat Wisconsin last year. I looked at the returning production on offense and defense for teams last year, compared that to Phil Steele’s experience chart, and added a talent metric, so as to try to get a better picture of the comparisons of the teams last year versus this year. If this was still last year fingernail eaters might have a case but since it’s not I’m thinking they just enjoy the taste of fingernails. jmo.

One of the interesting things about Steele’s experience chart is that it relies a lot on the class year of the players whether or not they previously have ever made it onto the field. Also of note, last year Whiskey had almost no on-field productive experience returning on defense, at any position.

I don't mean to say we should overlook BYU or anyone else and if our culture has changed any at all I don't think we will but the fact of the matter is BYU probably doesn't have a single player that could outrun Jim Chaney let alone Ty Chandler. jmo.
