Yeah, it's easier to spin getting rid of current players - culture. Gets more difficult when you have lots of decommits from this year that you recruited.I'm sure they're spinning it just like we tried to spin things about the intern. Every fanbase does it. But even without orange tinted glasses, losing your best signee to transfer before his first season plus all of the decommitments and other transfers is not good. Further, there is actual proof in the case that Smalls, 5 star OLB had Florida as his leader until the stuff with Chris Steele happened and he said he was no longer considering them because of it. There's no spinning that.
zactly. it at least has to raise an eyebrow or two from other prospects. and you know everybody that recruits against them is asking that question about the culture a thousand different ways...........Yeah, it's easier to spin getting rid of current players - culture. No way Bailey makes 5 star. You know, because he has cement for feet.Further on Florida, while their 2020 class is ranked 9th currently, its partly because they have 17 commits already. Of those 17, 9 are 4 stars and 8 are 3 stars. They've already had 7 decommitments from that class, 4 of which were 4 stars. They will probably finish this class around 12th if I were a betting man. Vols meanwhile have a major chance to get into the top 10. There's talk about Lawrence and Bailey being a 5 star as well so that would only improve the class. I bet Florida doesn't sign a single 5 star for the 2nd year in a row. Now is the time to turn this series around.
For sure - that’s our opportunity to strike.
I’m just not sure I buy the doom and gloom stuff from Gainesville - there are some troubling trends for them, it just feels like we’re looking at it with orange tinted glasses. I could very easily see a scenario in which, if similar things were happening at UT, that we would spin it as Pruitt changing the culture. I’m sure Florida fans are spinning it the same way.
As we all know, these jobs mostly come down to recruiting. Gotta get good players and gotta be good at evaluating talent. That’s where Butch fell off - and while the current roster issues at Florida looks bad, if Mullen recruits and evaluates like he always has, they’ll likely weather the storm. Doesn’t mean we won’t be better, though.
