2020 Presidential Race

It looks like April Ryan disagreed with him and frankly, this is really stupid. Harris clearly has African ancestry (with a black Jamaican father) and she was born in the United States. Her mother is Indian-American. There is no qualifier beyond that ... even if you want to be ridiculous and insist that you must be the descendant of a slave - nobody can prove that she isn't.

The purpose behind this stupid argument (and it may not be just the right who is making it), is to suggest that her experience as a black person growing up and living in the United States has been especially different or somehow easier than other blacks ... and that somehow discredits her from discussing the struggles of blacks for equality. That is not something you could possibly know unless you personally know her. It is very much like birther-ism, where the point was also to designate Obama something other than what he claimed to be through innuendo.

Now, some on the right might feel their own participation in this stupid discussion is validated because you can point to some blacks or some idiots on the left who are discussing it as well ... and in my opinion, it isn't.
Seems more like she's facing internalized racism than she is political attack. I agree it's a stupid argument, but it's also stupid to blame the right when the argument arose in the black community. Blaming the right is far more politically motivated than people questioning Kamala's claim of being African American.

That is not true and has been debunked many times in many different places including PolitiFact who specifically stated that Trump's claim that the Clinton campaign started birtherism was False.
This is correct, but you fail to mention that it was used by Clinton supporters in 2008 as they pushed for Hillary to be the nominee. She may not have participated herself, but her supporters did. That's also in the politifact story.

There's a Bloomberg story about from several years ago (behind a paywall, now). The concept originated from one of her staff. She and the campaign didn't exploit it, but i fully believe she let her supporters and subordinates do it on her behalf. Bill used same technique with Carville and Begala.

Actually, I think someone traced the concept to 2004, so before the whole 2008 election. But Hillary supporters were found to have used it to make Obama seem to be an illegitimate candidate. Of course the uproar didn't start until the right ran with it as well.

That is dead wrong.... both PolitiFact and Politico discuss this at considerable length and completely debunk it ... I have posted links on here before to those sites which completely obliterate what you are claiming. I'm not doing it anymore. It did not originate with anyone on her staff and it was never pushed by anyone on her staff. This is pure ignorance on your part.

Fact checking the media — yes, the Clinton machine did start the birther movement

No. That is not accurate. That is the Washington Times being the right-wing propaganda joke that they are... nobody on the Clinton staff promoted birtherism. It may have been floated by some of her supporters but not any staff members and it originated in Illinois in 2004 with a man named Andy Martin who was a perennial candidate in the state... not the Clinton campaign from 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Democrats gained 40 seats in the House of Representatives and also gained 7 Governorships ... they did lose two Senate seats but that is with a map which was very favorable to Republicans. That is about what was expected by people who were being realistic.
Funny how the left usually leaves off the Senate results but the rare case you all do mention it comes with a "yea but"

I'm amazed. Someone from the right actually has a clue. This is 100% correct. His name is Andy Martin by the way. Hillary supporters may have used it, but there has never been any proof that someone on her campaign staff did.

That's actually not very strong for a midterm. I would say losing those two senate seats sealed up Mitch's courts.

What happened to the Democrats' blue wave?

Great thing is I don't really care about birtherism. It was stupid then, and it's still stupid now. You do remember that CNN, MSNBC, NBC, and ABC promoted a conspiracy theory?

It is the most seats that Democrats have gained in the House of Representatives in a single election since 1974, which was right after Watergate. The projections I saw for Democratic party gains in the House ran between 38-44. So, this was in the middle of what was expected. And Scott Walker's tenure as Governor of Wisconsin came to an abrupt end. Not a bad night at all.

I don't think this is entirely accurate either. Different articles have presented different stories, so it's hard to say who is actually correct, but, supposedly, one of Hillary's advisors suggested using the rumor to help her campaign. Surprisingly, she supposedly said no. Might be the only time she did what could be considered the right thing.

You refer to the Washington Times as Right wing propaganda, yet you have no problem posting stuff from politifact or politico. Interesting to say the least.

I remember that Donald Trump said that he had sent investigators to Hawaii in 2011 and that they "can't believe what they are finding". He said that he would hold a press conference detailing what information they had uncovered. But of course, he never did.

So your saying your memory is selective? ;)

There is no proof of that and how could there be proof of a suggestion that wasn't followed? This started with a nut named Andy Martin and it ended with a nut named Donald Trump. End of discussion.

You have sources backing your claim. I have sources backing mine. You probably believe Bill's philandering is a "vast right-wing conspiracy" too.

Regardless, the Clintons followed their playbook by having others do their assassination for them.
