The Kerry Blackshear Thread

Basilio is right more than he is wrong. He is entertaining and does not bow to the UT admin. I'd rather listen to him and his on-air buddies than someone paying slobbering homage to Fulmer for two hours every day.

But hey, whatever entertains you. In the end, it's a game.
Good Lord, this is the stuff I'm talking about. You can think Basilio stirs the pot and still think he's okay to listen to. Just because you criticize him doesn't make you a sheep to the Haslams or whatever.

Cal has won exactly 1 NC with the most talent. In the "conversation" is pretty general IMO

Exactly. It’s strongly arguable that Cal (and, by extension, UK) has had a better overall ten-year run than any other coach/program in the country, but that still “only” gets you into a Final Four 40% of the time; acting as if UK should be penciled into the title game against MSU seems pretty shortsighted to me.

I think we agree....but I'm not sure. I think a certain host in the Knoxville market is way too deferential to the UTAD (not just Fulmer, the department as a whole) but that doesn't make his audience sheep.

I like Basilio. I'm not really entertained by the other show hosts - they are a bit dry. Basilio is a lot of things, but dry isn't one of them.

FWIW, KBJ just retweeted one of his current teammates video of VT students rocking out to Enter Sandman before a game. Could be nothing. Could be subtle way of him preparing people for his decision to stay at VT.

I just came on here to post about this too. Don't know if it means anything really, but it's his first tweet/RT since May 30th.

I have my Big Orange Cup on just in case.

The way I’m keeping myself from worrying about KBJ is that I’m just thinking about it as we’re either getting Blackshear or Burns. I’d rather have Blackshear and I’ll be real excited if we get him, but I will be happy to keep Burns if we don’t

Team won the title, not Davis. I think Zion is proof enough a generational talent isnt enough to win it. It takes a team and some luck. Way worse teams than 2018 Duke ended up with banners.
This is a genuine question, not antagonizing. Do you give more credit to AD or to Calipari for that title? I would think AD but I’m curious as to what Kentucky fans think about that because it could just be my dislike of Calipari making me think that

Give more credit to the supporting cast around the stars.

It's the Darius Miller, Kyle Wiltjer, Terrance Jones etc. Guys that aren't nba stars from day 1, but guys that know how to win together.

That certainly seems like something a guy staying put would do, unfortunately, though I think it's odd to allude to your decision like that if it has already been made instead of just making your announcement upfront.

It's definitely odd, you'd think if he knew his decision he'd end this song and dance routine instead of keeping the circus going. So maybe he doesn't know.

As I said, take it with a grain of salt. It could literally be nothing. But it does seem odd that a guy who never tweets would retweet this the week of his supposed announcement.

Nothing wrong with giving Cal credit for winning a title. He put together the team that did it. And this comes from someone whose dislike is probably on par with yours.
