Amateur Hour Continues

I hope it turns out better for you than it did for Davy Crockett when he left Tennessee and went out there.
I think you mean Davy Croquet

I live in E.TN, spend a lot of time in NC mountains (especially in the Summer-it's cool), and go to Florida occasionally for a change of pace. I spent several days pressure washing and scraping the deck, and painting a light gray/brown stain on it. It was a working vacation, well......sort of.
That sounds like work

Especially when it's 90 , sunny, and the Accuweather "Feels Like" temperature is 103. I got smarter as it went on, and did the side that got afternoon sun, earlier in the morning, and the side that got morning and some afternoon sun about an hour and a half before dark. It was still pretty dang hot, and the sweat dripped off of me where I was trying to brush the stain on. A lot of the wood was in pretty bad shape so it took a lot of brushing. I decided that a roller wasn't the answer, especially on the railing and the pickets.

Trump needs to get in the FBI's ass and make them start doing their job, which is to root out federal corruption, and, seemingly everyone knows who is dirty and nothing is being done. You want to drain the swamp, need to get the ball rolling with rooting out corrupt elected officials, both sides of the isle. Don't care who or how high up they reside.

Ultimately, it is no different than college football and paying for players, we all know it is going on, and if one rats out then all are ratted out because it is by design that collectively cover our asses by just not approaching the topic as all will go down, collective self preservation.

Put the NSA on it with the FBI, it is necessary for protecting the sanctity of the institution, and ridding corruption out is the first step in making government work for the people, instead of politicians playing games and serving themselves and their party.

Audit the sh** out of everyone of them and make them prove they aren't corrupt, because, sadly, there is more corruption than not.

So now he’s a bad president because he chooses not to kill people when our people weren’t killed? Such a bitter bitter shrew

I'm actually happy we didn't retaliate. But there are professional and amateurish ways to get to the same result. Hard to say Trump took the professional path with his decision making.

I’d read it as our military leadership was making a point that we were about to kill 150 people when none of ours were killed and Trump saw the logic and overruled the people in his ear, likely Bolton and Pompeo.

Yeah, Bolton and Pompeo are problematic. Remind me, who hired them?

I agree with you, and I agree with evil, etc., that Trump should fire those who pushed this.

There are many, many reasons to Dump Trump (trademark pending) next year, including his overall handling of Iran. This particular decision is not one of them.

So I didn’t say he should fire them. I said he over ruled them which is his prerogative. Pure speculation on my part but I’m guessing our professional military leadership didn’t think it was appropriate to kill 150 Persians in response and spoke up. I’d be fine if he fires Bolton. I’m not gonna say that on Pompeo yet but he damn sure isn’t the first person I’d ask on how to respond militarily here.

Assuming all we have been told is true, it sure seems like someone was pushing a highly disproportionate response for the purpose of escalating into a shooting war. To put that plan together took a lot of effort, a lot of coordination, tons of discussions across the board. It was not a happy accident that it would have likely embroiled us in full scale conflict. Someone wants that to happen.

I don’t disagree.

I do think he will order a strike and I’d bet that target list is being put together now. And I’m glad he showed the intestinal fortitude to say no on racheting this up, that is the correct response.
