The Kerry Blackshear Thread

It’s not ground breaking, but when he took a full 48 to Florida, Arkansas and then Tennessee it’s a little surprising/note worthy imo.

Where all did he visit 4 years ago? If he came to TN, it was before Barnes was here so sticking around a little longer makes sense. Cal was at KY, so if he visited there he maybe had little more to discover in Lexington.

It might be a good thing, but on the other hand, it could mean that it only took 24 hours to convince him to be a wildcat and he didn't need to see anymore.

On a different note, I'm laughing at all the supposed Kentucky "insiders" who were claiming he would announce for UK today.

I think if it was that then you wouldn’t see the talk of him now going to A&M and potentially Michigan...not saying he doesn’t pick UK in the end but I feel confident in saying that he hasn’t told anyone he committed.

To be fair we had them do the same with us . Right here in this thread mind you
No comparison...I assume you’re referencing BO, if you search Kerry Blackshear on Twitter there are literally hundreds of UK fans claiming he’s announcing to them yesterday or today, all with their own “sources”.

Yea lots of Kentucky “insiders” just like we have them in football

It's quite amazing just how many UK #BBN fans with 10-100 followers are out there claiming to be insiders and guaranteeing a Blackshear commitment yesterday or today. I saw one "insider" with 17 followers claim that Blackshear signed his LOI with UK yesterday and will have an announcement video released tonight during the draft.....funny thing about that, you don't sign LOI's as a grad transfer.

Not to mention they all pointed at a video of Calipari literally walking to a plane and said he looked like he was walking with swag so they MUST have landed Blackshear. These people are idiots.

You must have not been on Volnation during Grudengate.

I think Kentucky would be one of the favorites to the win the national championship. The Vols... a S16 team

They’ve been “favorites” the last couple years,
I think it’s probably splitting hairs if you’re talking about the 4th best team and 10th best team and that at that point either could go on a run.

Exactly. The difference in a tournament as crazy as March Madness between the #1 and #16 teams is minimal. Look at Duke, the OVERWHELMING favorite all year long with three top 10 NBA draft picks and a generational LeBron James level talent, and they couldn't make a Final 4. March is all about whose got the hot hand. Texas Tech got bounced early in the Big 12 tourney which had a very weak field.

When someone pulls their name out of draft, that means they get a low draft grade, right? Besides an overall grade, do they get some type of evaluation sheet that grades them on specific areas?
Someone mentioned that he was slowest in the combine in his position group.
Try not be biased, but what school could actually improve his stock? It seems like this is what he wants. He would’ve just gone overseas if he didn’t want to improve his NBA stock

But it is arguable that UK is a F4 caliber team without him, too. As I said last week, he makes Tennessee a top-20 team, and inside the top 20, it's a crapshoot. With some good fortune, a top-20 Tennessee could make a run at a F4.

Well yea, a lot of Cal’s teams have been a F4 caliber team that always fell short of expectations.

One national title with what, 26 NBA draft picks he’s had at UK?

Barnes may not the be the recruiter Cal is but I believe his development of players is as good as anyone in the country.

That’s one of the best selling points for Tennessee.
