2020 Presidential Race

“My gaydar doesn’t even work that well in the present, let alone retroactively, but one can only assume that’s the case,”
I got news for him. 95% of the country doesn't have "gaydar" and equally 95% of the country doesn't want a gay man as President.

Particularly when the gay "man" president would supposedly really be the first lady. Kinda makes your head hurt thinking about it.

whats funny is the split here. he has to work the gay angle to get the Dem nominee, but he will need to drop (stop pushing) that angle to win the general.
I think the vast majority wouldnt care if it wasn't getting brought up. heck a good number wouldn't ever know it with how uniformed our voting population is.

just another case of rushing to the extremes to win the party, then rushing to the middle to win the general. i hate all identity politics.

The Democratic Nomination process is fixed with Super Delegates and I think Crazy Joe has pretty much has it already wrapped up like Hillary did in 2015-early 2016.

I agree. I think the big question is whether one or more of the liberal nutcases will be upset enough to do a third party or independent thing. Warren and Bernie screech about everything ... they might as well go after something actually legitimate like a rigged primary.

bernie can't after he bowed down in front of the Dem power's that be last time. He went from never Hilary to Hilary should be president. tribalism.

Such a very small percentage of the country is gay so I highly doubt this statement. If he has some facts he should produce them. He has nothing other than "hey I'm gay, elect me". If he were straight he would be polling around 2%

Yes, but libs promote perversity in diversity ... or maybe the other way around. In any case they will vote for something simply because it's different ... and especially so if it was previously considered abnormal.

It wouldn't surprise me if Hillary ran as an independent in 2020:rolleyes::eek:

incumbent who has come out of "the biggest scandal ever" pretty much scott free at this point, with a decent economy, going against a divided party. i hope he is voted out, but unless something actually happens it doesn't look like it will happen
That would be conventional wisdom, but this isn't a conventional presidency. In spite of the strength of the economy, Trump's Real Clear Politics Average Approval Rating has still never been above the 46.2% number that he was elected with (it is currently at 43.9% - Trump has a very low ceiling.). That indicates that he is either not getting any credit for the strength of the economy, or his negatives involving his character and personality are currently overriding how people feel about the economy. Also, I disagree that the Democrats are divided... they are unified in their sentiment that the most important issue they face in 2020, and how they should vote, revolves around defeating Donald Trump.

You're calling the holy grail Hillary the worst candidate?

I don't care about numbers. He will shred Bernie, the fk up, one on one debating. Period.
Trump could not get the better of most college students in a debate... unless you get points for childish name calling and petty insults. He certainly would get nothing on substance.

Could be any/all of the above; hard to see enough positives to outweigh his negatives. But my take on why he will not be their nominee is because he is so clearly way past his prime I can't see him maintaining as frontrunner a year from now. When he was in his prime he might could have pulled it off. Still and all, the DNC may try to prop him up anyways, and we get Hillary 2.0. After all, who else they got that has that broad an appeal?
I think the nominee will be one of the looney libs. Not sure which one yet.

You hope it's not Biden... but he is the pragmatic choice and that is the direction which Democrats tend to go. It's never a fringe candidate such as Jerry Brown in '92 or Wesley Clark in '04 or Bernie in '16. The one time you could make an argument that a fringe or an extremist candidate was nominated by the Democratic Party was George McGovern in '72.

Also, when has anyone from the Democratic side ever blown such a big, early lead? The only clear front runner that I can think of going back as far as 1976 who didn't get the nomination was Gary Hart in 1988. Otherwise, the Democratic primary is usually pretty boring.

It's still early days. Warren is waxing while Bernie is waning, Mayor Pete is still warming up, and Kamala's treading water. Those are the ones, as of today, most likely to overtake Biden if anyone does.

No, actually I do not hope it is not Biden. But then I do not hope it is Biden either.
