Gun control debate (merged)

I have seen those numbers on gun deaths but not just homicides. Do you have a link?
Of the estimated number of murders in the United States, 45.9 percent were reported in the South, 22.6 percent were reported in the Midwest, 20.2 percent were reported in the West, and 11.3 percent were reported in the Northeast

If you want to post the death tolls of different areas of the country, qualify where they come from.
You got the same google as me.
I found the data on a CDC website.

In 2015, homicide rates were 5.7 deaths per 100,000 for the total population, 20.9 for non-Hispanic blacks, 4.9 for Hispanics, and 2.6 for non-Hispanic whites.

Yeah if you check out the weapons used the midwest uses guns slightly more often than the south in those homicides. 76.3 vs 76.0. More laws does not mean safer

What's really weird is if you look at population breakdowns vs the crime in metropolitan vs non. The smallest brackets in both are the most dangerous. With the middle pops being the safest, and the largest in the middle as far as rates go.

Living in poor, black areas are most dangerous.

Check out how sharply the murder/NNM rates drop as city population drops.

Table 16

By a few points over some others yes. The eye opener is how huge the rate drop is from Grp I to Grp II and especially to Grp III. Things look to pretty much level out Grp III to Grp VI.
look at table 18 that breaks down the counties, thats what I was referring to.

Understood. I was pointing out the huge differences seen among the various city population groupings. The high/low rates between the counties is only 4.8/2.7. There is also 4x as many total murder/NNM incidents in the city groupings (13K) vs the counties. (3323)

wasn't arguing, just clarifying.
its almost one of those cases of there being too much information. plus the ability to make numbers tell you whatever story you want them too.
