I feel the same way, I really do. But I think every school feels that way about their coaches.

For sure. There are pros and cons. I just don’t like any system that isn’t truly a “free market” for the labor force.

But that issue probably has more to do with the NFL than it does the NCAA.

It's typical 'clickbait' media treatment unfortunately. I mean rather than share a % they use big numbers "OVER 1500 KIDS ALREADY IN THE PORTAL!!!" 1500 out of how many though? Transfer portal is for all student athletes in any sport too. It seems like a huge number when presented like that. But it's really a small % of the kids putting their names in there. Close to half a million student athletes per year.

"Currently 0.3% of student athletes have entered the transfer portal" doesn't sell like "Over 1500 student athletes have entered the transfer portal since October"

We also don't have information on how many would explore transfers before the portal. Most anecdotal comments from coaches indicate it's not really much different. The biggest difference seems to be it's public and there are more consequences. There also seems to be more benefits so maybe it balances out. And after all the consequences have been highlighted this year maybe it actually reduces the overall number eventually. That's why overall I'm for it. Just wish it wasn't so public.

My friend's good buddy is a graduate assistant with a primary focus on recruiting at Clemson. He was just a regular student that was going through a sports management program. I think he just applied for it like any other job or internship. He started out as just a regular intern doing bitch work and eventually was promoted to grad assistant. Those guys are in the loop a lot more than I would've expected. Heard that Crouch wasn't going to Clemson a few weeks out before Tennessee starting gaining traction leading up to his commitment.

it was probably 2002ish last time i was out there. wound up at some saki bar doing saki bombs...next thing i know i wake up in my hotel room..

still have no idea what happened in between. probably a good thing. we call that plausible deniability.

I go every year. Go get your photo by the world series trophy. Its in the Motorola trophy room at Gallagher Way. Do the morning Wrigley Field tour on a night gameday. Architectural River Cruise is great.

I did all those things minus the trophy. Had a blast in Chi Town and Im not a Cubbies fan but Wrigley is awesome.

North Ave and Oak St beaches are great too. Water is a little chilly though. Most people dont realize Chicago has lots of beaches right there in the city. My wife used to live in Lincoln Park. Known her for 12 years and I bet we have been to Chicago about 25 times.

we stayed downtown fo rmy birthday last year, did Wrigley, Navy Pier, The Bean, The Art Institute, Buckingham Fountain, Architecture boat tour, etc. Definitely all the tourist spots. Taking the train to and from the airport is super convenient.

another touristy place that is actually really really good is Ditka's restaurant....i just knew it was going to be campy and cliche...but it was actually pretty nice and the food was really good.

Man, it was a pretty thorough rundown, going from like, Bay-area stuff of the early 90's, to the glory days of early 2000's, to kind of an emo-ification of the scene in the late 00's/early 10's, to where we are now, with basically all the face-tatted soundcloud rappers filling the void.

But yeah, my junts were like, Newfound Glory, Sum 41, Motion City Soundtrack, the Matches, Blink/Boxcar Racer, and then like emo stuff like Taking Back Sunday, My Chem, Coheed, Thursday, Matchbook Romance, allll the embarrassing stuff.
