Building depth is nice, but along both lines we simply need starters right now., tbh. We have 0 proven bodies for 2020. Better go get some (yes I know we have some nice incoming Freshman, but nobody is proven atm. And DL needs A LOT of new young blood).
The Butch years jaded me toward even worrying about depth, when your starters aren't even up to task. During the 2017 class many excused it as "a class for depth" and it turned out we didn't even have starters up to the task first and foremost. Players leave for the nfl early, transfer, don't pan out. Gotta be recruiting starters all the time, never backups...another reason to grab King if we can.
They are out there, we just signed two. Cade Mays would've been a day 1 starter here and Trey was one of the confrence best interior lineman his true freshman season. Shy was pretty elite his first year before that dirty UGA chop block. Not likely to find true freshmen on the O-Line & D-line that can Start right away in the SEC, Their bodies arent physically developed yet to play with grown men. You need at least a couple years to red-shirt and get them in an SEC strength program. Unless you go the JUCO route like we did with Middleton and Savion Williams. (who will play heavy mins).
Interesting. I want someone to jump in the boat.Yep. Obviously there are guys so good that we’d take them regardless, but Pruitt has doubled down on the “camp tells the story” line of recruiting evaluation.
We’re at a point where we can be a little bit more selective than maybe we thought we would be. Good times ahead.
That’s violent. Let’s throw @Warrior5 overboard first. Oh wait he already abandoned ship when he went 0/100I wish a few posters on here would jump out of the boat without a life jacket. Lol
