Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

Depends, are you anticipating landing Cam Hayes or Caleb Love? I think I'd be okay throwing one of those two in the fire. But I don't disagree with your point. Could potentially be a concern.
Even if they land a Caleb Love(very possible) I think even he would appreciate someone with some experience to share the load and the the IRE of a hard coach.

Not a bad name, but would also have to sit out and has been hampered with injuries and have been questions about if he will even be able to play again...seems a bit risky?

I just think he's a much better player than Bailey. I would hope he'd be able to play again considering he was testing the draft waters. Wouldn't make too much sense for him to do that if even playing again was still in question.

If those guys aren’t currently committed it would be foolish to count them in that far ahead.

If he’s healthy he likely is, but again there are serious concerns about his health. How many workouts did you see him get? What were his test numbers?

I like Bailey, in 2 seasons averaging just 18 mpg he was very productive with 7.0ppg, 1.9rpg, 0.9apg, 0.5spg, and he was a 38% 3pt shooter. Seems like a good Bowden replacement honestly and I like he's a lefty as well.

I think Kevin Easley or Quentin Grimes would be the only guys ranked ahead of Bailey I'd rather have if given the choice.

I think he’s got a simile game to Turner, a bit taller and more athletic...ideally probably a 2 guard but can definitely play 1.

Player A: 27.4mpg 8.4ppg 2.0apg 1.9topg 2.5rpg 38%fg 34%3ptfg 60%ft

Player B: 19.1mpg 7.4ppg 0.9apg 0.8topg 2.0rpg 41%fg 40%3ptfg 91%ft

Both played on 25+ wins NCAAT teams, both would have to sit out a year.

Would take Player B there, seemed to make more of lesser minutes. Plus personally can't stand seeing low FT% for anyone...I feel like 70% is the floor even for bigs, one reason I think Grant will have a real shot to see quality NBA minutes.

I wouldn't mind getting immediate guard help, but I don't think it's imperative. I'd much rather have immediate interior help.
On the surface I agree, but I also think Barnes feels good about what he has inside, only time will tell if that’s accurate...with that said not sure who outside Blackshear (not interested in Tennessee) would come in and make a big impact in the post for the Vols.

When we didn’t have the open spot?

Well, they've known since the day the season ended there was a high possibility that Grant and Bone weren't coming back. Walker put his name in the portal almost a month ago. And they didn't have to take commitments from ORN and Plavsic. There was certainly a window in which they could've gotten involved with a lot of those guys. Everything is contingent. Just because a spot isn't officially open doesn't mean they shouldn't be reaching out to guys.

I like B as well. Put it this way. I would rather have a healthy Bailey with no recent history of injuries than Fischer with a past scattered with injuries. Seems to me that has also affected his play on the court quite a bit. Imo

I think Barnes feels good with his bigs. Kent & Fulkie are both entering year 3 and Burns will be entering year 2. ORN coming in is also a very good sized player last reported closer to 230 than 205 and 6'8" or near there.

We shall see, I think Kent could be a real surprise this season just needs to stay healthy.

And you’re sure they didn’t reach out to any of them?

They’ve been recruiting ORN since December, they should’ve passed on him in favor of 3 graduate transfers?

Walker announced his transfer and ORN took that spot, then we were left waiting on Williams and Bone...Williams announced he was gone and Plavsic had his spot the very next day, that only leaves Bone who just made it known yesterday he was officially gone.

Can you imagine the uproar here if Barnes had taken some graduate transfer and Bone had a change of heart, but Tennessee didn’t have a spot for him? He ends up elsewhere because Tennessee opted to take a so/so grad transfer?
