If you are a 5 star RB and you don’t include Bama or Georgia then you just haven’t been paying attention to the NFL.

That’s what draws attention. Sugar Bowl wins mean nothing to kids

5* talent is going to get you to the NFL and Bama, Clemson, OSU or UGA..blah blah blah aint the only guys can get you there. They make it a kind of self fullfilling prophecy.

Correct. The BCS National Championship game ruined bowls, there are way too many bowls, and 8/9 wins should be the cutoff (and FCS games should not count).

I still don’t know how you make non-playoff postseason games meaningful, though.
They're meaningful because it is football, IMO.

My issue with his direct statement is that he discredit texas's win over uga. Texas has been down for a while and now they are showing life (nationally). Texas is in the position, we hope to be in a year or 2. If a prospect said the same thing about us in that situation, volnation would crush him. And if you are good enough, you don't need or have to go to uga, bama, or clemson. It's kinda annoying when I hear kids say i want to go to "abc" University so I can get to the league. Like dude, if you are good enough, it doesn't matter what school you go to (for the most part) if you want to make it to the NFL.
Exactly...now get off my lawn you little sawed off punk..

Bowls have always been meaningless. Not until the BCS was there a bowl game that mattered. Are there too many now? Yes, but that doesn't mean they ever mattered to begin with.
They were just supposed to be a fun experience for the players and fans. Being conference champions was what you bragged about.

You're all right, it doesn't matter what school...if you're a top level talent.

But it's also their decision to make plenty of 5 stars have been "stupid" teenagers and gone to Bama or Georgia and are making millions of dollars in the NFL now. Who cares? Only recruits that I care about are the ones that come to UT, beyond that pick where ya wanna go it's likely the most important decision you'll make as a HS athlete.

Like the HS basketball player going to New Zealand instead of college, people are all kinds of torn up about how he's "ruining" his career etc. Him and his family get at least 1 year paid to live in arguably one of the most beautiful countries in the world...and he's 18, sounds like a pretty amazing opportunity to me. If he has great numbers then once he's eligible for the NBA draft teams will be interested.

What's up men (and women!) ?
I have not been able to frequent these hallowed grounds of logic and reasoned debate for quite a while, sadly.

Who do you think are the best chances to commit next? Instate priorities? More JuCos? Any upsets over Bama, UGA, or UF?

Miss hanging out here; hoping to be around a little more...
Marshall Manning at this rate.

If you had a 16 team playoff I believe that would be 15 games total. I would have a hard time thinking of 15 bowl games that are actually worth keeping. But you could do that, keep the 15 best bowl games as playoff games and get rid of the rest.

College Football: Ranking All 35 Bowl Games in Order of Prestige
Only the top 16 get post-season other than conference championship games. I think that is too few. I like the bowl games, but do agree that there are too many.

lol arguing about Elijah Young.

Sure he runs a 4.5 but there’s more to Football than forty times.

Staff knows about him. They’re not pushing for him like they are other locals like Baron Cooper and Hardy. Or even the Nashville or Memphis kids. Should tell you all you need to know.

He’ll do well at Louisville or Arkansas or Kentucky maybe.

But Hank thinks we are so desperate that we need to take kids even if we are not sure if they will help.

Tells me he's not camped on campus yet...not reading anything else into that. A total of 3 OCs have had him on their radar at UT, it's obvious the kid feels comfortable with where he stands at UT and wants to continue taking advantage of the recruiting process.

UGA is paying Zachary Evans. It’s obvious.

Just the fact that he wants to say he doesn’t think Texas is a contender because they “barely” beat uga..... while listing uga in his top 5 is all you need to know.

Someone else brought up a good point. Uga is loaded to the gills with talent, but whenever they play a team with close it similar talent, they seem to lose. Sometimes bad.

What issues are you having?

the ground wire coming out of the stereo is hot. if you check the ground on the plug before plugging into stereo its zero. as soon as you plug in the plug in the back of the stereo it becomes hot which is not suppose to happen. I have couple guys go in and look at it and they both seem to think I have a bad stereo head with a short in it. I am returning for a new one.

Sounds like a short. Have you tried a continuity check between the hot and the ground?

Do the coaches have to respond every time a recruit hashtags them in a tweet? Do they have an in house geek squad to handle that kind of stuff? Just curious what kind of a time suck it is for the staff.

South-Doyle alum here. Watched every game of Elijah Young's career at SD so far. That kid is a legit FBS player, but I've had questions about if he can be a RB in the SEC. I think he's better off being a slot receiver, but it looks like he's determined to play RB, and he's doing his best to achieve that. He's up over 180 pounds now and still ran a flat 4.5 second 40. He has really good vision out of the backfield, and he played well even when South-Doyle played some of the better competition the last few years (Farragut, Central, and the like). SD's offensive line was horrendous last year and he still looked good when he was healthy. He battled an ankle issue and still led the team in rushing in 8 games with about 700 yards. He's also really good on special teams. He should be the team's top weapon on offense this year with Tonquez Ball gone to Tulane, so expect to see more from him as a senior.
4.5 is the “fastest kid in the state”? You sure you KNOW what you know? 😏

anybody know anything about car stereos ? trying to replace the one in my new to me boat and its a cluster f*%#
lol this is funny since I'm going through the same thing. Speakers aren't working and I think it's a bad amp. They mounted two amps on top of a sub and it's in a ***** location. I checked the fuses on one but couldn't get to the other. Finally put it on hold before I put my fist through something lol.

They can’t directly respond...recruiting violation. I guess they can like the Tweet.
