Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

I believe that Turner and Bowden will be one of the top scoring duos in the country next season. I think we make the tournament as a 5 or 6 seed.

I think that is an easy over. Like, put down serious kinds of money, easy. I’d set it at 17.5, probably.
Yeah, that's about right, imo and I think that's an easy over, too. Bowden and Turner are going off next year. Throw in James and JJ, UT becomes a guard orientated team that is going to score a lot their points from the 4 above players. All we need is some improvement from Pons with his athletic ability, Fulk doing what he does, just a little better and one of DJ, ORN, Kent or Plavsic to gives one more solid rebounder, shot blocker and 10 points a game. Well, or a combination of those players getting us 15/15 and 2 blocks. I think this team makes the NCAA Tourney, almost without doubt, bubble team is worst case scenario.

Assuming a 31-gm schedule, that puts the over at 18-13. Having lost 4 starters, and the questions (not necessarily deficiencies) we have in the post makes 17.5, give or take, a fair number. Just as many times, national media is way too out of touch with reality with regards to having to cover so many teams, we as fans can sometimes be too out of touch with regards to our team’s potential shortcomings and faults. I think on the surface, if I’m being honest, this is probably a bubble team, next year. Calling 17.5 an easy over seems a bit optimistic to me, but I had this past season’s team going 23-8 in the regular season too, IIRC, so I may have a habit of running on the conservative side of the fence.

Turner and Bowden will be our bellcows next year.
Yes, sir, completely agree. I also think both can play their way into the NBA draft discussion (probably 2nd rounders, but still) and if James is the player I think he is, UT may have 3 bellcows

Yep, the bad thing is those guys relied a lot on Bone and Grant to create openings for them. When healthy Turner can create his own shot; however, no one else on the team is known for being able to create their own shot (even James). Next year, we are going to need to set a lot of screens and have a lot of ball movement to be successful. Also, Josiah is going to be the one with the most weight on his shoulder, since he doesn’t have a veteran star to let him ease into the college game. The Vols are going to need Josiah to be able to create openings for the other guys, which will be tough if Meyers is right about him struggling as a scorer.

Yes, it is Victor Bailey if that wasn’t already known...I would expect to hear something within the next week.
So, bTo, is it more or less a foregone conclusion that UT will add Bailey in the next couple of weeks ? I hope so, at first, I wasn't for it, but considering the guard situation after next year, I've changed my mind. We need a pure shooter that also hits 90+% of his free throws. I don't think adding Bailey will effect our chances with Springer and/or Love. So come on down, Victor Bailey, u are the next contestant on the Vols becoming an every year NCAA Tourney lock game show. Use your best Rod Roddy voice on that last sentence and please don't neuter and spay your pet, because The Dog loves and needs his genitals

Barring some unforeseen change then yes, Bailey will be at Tennessee and I would expect it to happen fairly quickly.

As much as people wanted to claim Barnes had no plan or wasn’t prepared...we lose Walker/add ORN, Williams announced and Plavsic commits, now Bone declares and they are close with Bailey. Looks to me like Barnes/staff have known exactly what they were doing and planning, if folks want to question the players taken ok, but I don’t think anyone can claim they had no plan.

I noticed that Bailey is from Austin and his mom is a track coach at Texas. Wonder if CRB has a prior relationship with the family?

2021 GA PF Elijah Tucker
From the adidas Atlanta Memorial Day Classic
Elijah Tucker looks like a prospect high-major coaches will want to familiarize themselves with very soon. The light bulb looks like it is starting to click on for him. In a Sunday night win, Tucker went for over 20 points and scored in a variety of ways. There were put-back dunks. He knocked down a couple jump shots. Made a couple nice moves to the basket, one of which was a spin move that resulted a rim-rocking dunk. Having seen him during high school season, some practices with him Game Elite team and in a game this weekend, his trajectory over the past few months has been noticeable. It should be noted that his father played offensive tackle for Tennessee and his mother played basketball at Tennessee for Pat Summit.

Respectfully disagree...Bowden came into his own the last half of the year and was very aggressive and effective driving into that sweet pull-up jumper around the free throw line.

I think that Jalen Johnson can as well. He hasn't had a green light and was likely told to not draw his defender into GW's proximity.
