I know one thing... We simply can't lose to vanderbilt again. If that happens all hell will break lose and we will be in deep doodoo
They’re getting a pretty good QB transfer, and Vaughn and Pinckney decided to stay their senior year. We have them at home and should win but it will not be easy

Imagine how bad off we would be if we didn't have a staff of ace recruiters. This is the result of being an SEC doormat for a decade and wasting a perfect storm of legacy recruits in 2014-2015 that was supposed to revive the program.

That’s why I think butch is the worst coach we’ve ever had. The football god’s sent us a gift to resurrect the program but baby bit jones peed down his pants and wasted it all

I'm about to get on my soapbox, y'all.

Teachers are saints and don't get enough credit. They're tasked for basically raising other people's kids for 8 hours out of every day, and for some of those kids, are the only adult role models available to guide them. And the joke was already made that they're overwhelmingly underpaid to do so.

But let's not blame the kids for having the issues they do.. and let's be a little slower to judgment for parents who we think 'aren't doing their best job'.. There are so many stressors out there economically, medically, psychologically, that a high-functioning family unit is rare in a lot of areas-- urban, suburban, and rural.

This country has a whole lot of healing to do, and that doesn't happen by calling kids wimps, demonizing parents, or underpaying teachers.
As usual lately I'm about 25 pages behind as I've had other things on my mind but I totally agree w u on the teachers and ur entire post in general.
Having teachers underpaid and the lack of money put in education is embarrassing.. Teachers, many who work extra jobs actually spend their own money for supplies and even food and clothes for some under unprivileged kids. This is just unacceptable. We spend more money on military than the next 3 or 4 countries combined. I believe in

I believe in having the strongest military, I'm not a far left nut but not investing in the kids and those who teach them is just not smart. And don't even get me started on Betsy Devoss who probably can't spell cat..

Sorry for the rant and I know there will be several tl, Dr..lol

IDT we've lost a recruit the coaches really thought we were getting. There are a lot more names left on our board than have been crossed off. So there's that.
I think they wanted Tate. No idea on Rogers or Jarrett. I'm sure they're takes lol. But I see your point.

I have some colleagues who went to University of Memphis back in the 90s. The stories I've heard about Platnium Plus are incredible.
My favorite watering hole in the 90's was Willie Moffats which was next door to Platinum Plus so after watering down, we ventured over to Platinum, the stories are true. The ladies were beautiful and as usual if u have the money u can get what u wanted..
I know some in here look down on that sort of thing but for a young man it was fun..

Coaches are negative recruiting UT very effectively this year, and UT can't get peer-recruiting off the ground. The former isn't going to stop and the latter is dependent on a few key recruits committing. I'm sure no one at UT is thrilled about it, but the damage was done at the end of last season. Other coaches are just capitalizing on it and using it to create doubt.

I imagine that if we had just found a way to hold on vs S. Carolina and gone on to crush some mid-tier big 10 team in a bowl, the mood amongst fans and recruits would be much different right now.

They also lost a really good OC though. It should be hard for them to avoid a step back, and it should be hard for us to avoid taking a step forward. We should win. Note profuse usage of should.

Great point on them losing Ludwig. He was really good and I wouldn’t have minded hiring him as OC

We can all only speak based on our own experiences and observations. I attended some very good public schools for about 2/3 of my primary education and most of the teachers I had in those schools were nincompoops who only taught because their husbands didn't make enough to let them be stay-at-home moms. Many of them were petty and prone to favoritism, which was probably the best contribution they ever made to their students in terms of preparing idealistic and mostly privileged kids for the type of people you encounter in the real world. I'm fine with rewarding the good ones and doing what you can to attract more good ones, but I think more good can be done by identifying and getting rid of the bad ones as quickly as possible.

If our Win-Loss percentage was as bad as Basillio's percentage of being right, we'd be the worst SEC program by a long shot.

He has some decent info every now and again but he's not a journalist, he's a rumour mongerer.

Best track record of the non-state run media because they’re too afraid to share the those rumors. TB nailed Bailey, Crouch, and Gray committing. Knew Helton was out months ahead of time. Knew Chaney was in the mix when no one thought it was possible. Lately he has a few hits.

Does he stir the pot? Yes, he even admits it. You have to understand nuance if you listen to his show though and in our society today people want it all spelled out for them or they aren’t interested. It’s pretty easy to tell when he’s serious and when he’s joking.
