Recruiting Forum Football Talk [RIP 9.3.2019]

That Justin Rogers thread needs to be closed for like a week or so.

Why argue with kentucky trolls. Their best team in history couldn't beat one of our worst. Its one of the most one-sided "rivalry's" (and i only call it a rivalry because my NCAA 2013 [yes I still play the '13 over the 14 because I like the recruitng on 13 better than the goofy points system in 14] calls it a rivalry game) in all of college football.

Everyone just back away from that thread and lets just agree to revisit when Rogers decommits.
Save you from yourself and don’t go in there. Lord forbid you get annoyed at bickering over SILLY ISSUES. Totally unrelated, you still on VQ? 🤨

It’s early and I haven’t had my caffeine yet so I can’t quite tell if you’re trying to sass me or not. So maybe fight me. Maybe not. Idk.

Skip your espresso and your bisching. Get another hour of sleep and most importantly STFU. Errybody else will post the way they want.

Is that the plot to Good Will Hunting?

No. Anyways I’m best friends with Matt Damon.

Irony is you bisching about me bisching.

Also you clearly don’t know what “aggrieved” means.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
This covers it:
having a strong feeling of or showing annoyance, displeasure, or hostility; full of anger.
"why are you angry with me?"
synonyms: irate, annoyed, cross, vexed, irritated, exasperated, indignant, aggrieved, irked, piqued, displeased, provoked, galled, resentful; More
furious, enraged, infuriated, in a temper, incensed, raging, incandescent, wrathful, fuming, ranting, raving, seething, frenzied
.

I’ll even use it in a sentence. Hole got his jimmied azz all AGGRIEVED when a VQ poster wished his dead mother Happy Mother’s Day and even bickered with the site moderator over when said bickering got deleted. Then Hole went to another site and bickered with another poster over his own bickering over too much bickering with a Kentucky fan on a player thread...aggrieved. I hope the rest of your day sucks...like your attitude recently.

I don't even say a great class is coming, only that it will be determined by the season.
Some "negavols" have agreed.
Then proceed to question why it hasn't happened 3 months before the season starts.
It's in part, fascinating.

The season will definitely have an impact either way. It just seems all momentum from the ‘19 class evaporated. Maybe that just doesn’t reappear until October.

Coaches are negative recruiting UT very effectively this year, and UT can't get peer-recruiting off the ground. The former isn't going to stop and the latter is dependent on a few key recruits committing. I'm sure no one at UT is thrilled about it, but the damage was done at the end of last season. Other coaches are just capitalizing on it and using it to create doubt.

So basically we have to show big improvement this year or we may have a weak class?

Yep and the brand took a hit during the draft.

This season is important.

If there's any good news, most of our key targets are still listening which means they're going to give them a chance.. Whatever that's worth.

At least they all haven't committed somewhere else yet... Lol

Sure, we're going to need to show improvement. But we're going to see guys commit this summer and that will help. Positive news from summer workouts and camps will help, and signs of player development in fall camp will help even more. This spring, we haven't had a lot of positives to counteract the negatives, but that should change this summer. Will it change as quickly as fans want? Not unless we start getting elite commitments.

IDT we've lost a recruit the coaches really thought we were getting. There are a lot more names left on our board than have been crossed off. So there's that.

We win some ballgames and make a nice bowl game recruiting will take care of itself.

Ain’t worried.

Problem with football is there are only 12 or so games in a season and that creates lots of dead time for radio personalities that focus on it to have to fill.

I'm usually not the patient type. But patience is in order with the program and recruiting. LA has stated the truth of the situation and it is coming from multiple sources reported on here as well as others close to the program not stated here.

Again - think Rick Barnes. Two years of marginal improvement as he developed players that were far from high profile. Then, boom. Success at a very good level. Now he's in the conversation with elite recruits even if he cannot yet land many of them. He's earning his way toward the type guys he wants who can play at a high level. Same deal with football. They have the staff to get this done at an elite level. But they will have to develop the guys they can get until they prove the process is successful. That will happen for next off-season's recruiting by winning 8+ games this season. They would have something to sell then - a 3 or more game improvement in the W's and national exposure. If they win only 6-7, add another year before recruiting takes off at top 10 level. It's about the W's and national exposure.

If recruits see the team win some games early on, recruiting will pick up strongly. But forget all this recruiting class ranking stuff. Recruit to needs. See Clemson. Sometimes they are high ranked, sometimes well outside of the top 10.
