The emergence of proto-fascism among Red Hats and worldwide alt-Right factions is far more concerning. It will lead to loss of personal liberty just as quickly as hardcore socialism.

Really anyone with common sense knows to stay away from the two extremes they are both nation killers . Yet you just read how all of them running for POTUS is better than TRUMP .

Never knew wanting to work, keep more of your own money, supporting law enforcement and military, for TRUE equality, wanting secure borders, etc was on the verge of being a communist.

This is true, extremes are bad, on either side of the spectrum. I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think any Democrat running is a bloodthirsty, hardcore socialist like most on the board think. Some are a little more socialist than others, but even they are "socialist-lite" compared to the rest of the world.

Bernie is a socialist he would wreck the economy , leave and blame it on somebody else because it wasn’t done right . The economy would react the worse to him and Elizabeth W. Most of the others are just pandering to the groups , like Booker . If Biden was young and or a minority he’d win it all . Harris will be the VP elect , she’s not likable enough to overcome her left coast ways to make POTUS

I think every politician panders to groups, it is how they get votes. I don't think any Democrat would wreck the economy, there will still be divided government more than likely with a Republican Senate.

It is Biden's to lose right now, but a lot can happen in the next several months. Harris is a strong candidate, she will do better than you think.

There's a whole thread devoted to it that I've posted in quite a bit.

Brandishing free press as the enemy.
Encouraging violence against non-supporters.
Fomenting cultural division by demonizing non-supporters (Trump is a master at "othering" people).
Idolizing dictators and authoritarians.
Protectionist trade policies.
Warmongering rhetoric.
Destabilizing NATO.
Support of a militarized police force.
There are many more, just a quick list.

Look at what he says and how he conducts himself. He's not hiding who he is and what he believes. And he is a bit more tame than some of our friends on the forum. That should worry everyone.

That's because they are and it has nothing to do with right/left, repub/dem, or capitalism/socialism.........it has everything to do with Trump being a horrendously despicable human.
You guys keep trying to escape that fact even though it is the most critical of all

Tonight is the first time in years I've watched a Fox News program from beginning to end. Mayor Pete absolutely knocked it out of the park. He's articulate, educated, honest, composed, and direct; even the Fox News crowd gave him a standing ovation at the end, much to the surprise of Chris Wallace (a great moderator, btw). He discusses solid center-Left policy proposals. He's a Millennial vet from the Rust Belt. Unlike other Democrats, he actually went in the viper's nest of Fox News and called out the blowhard idiots on the network. And he is a Game of Thrones nerd.

Solid quote on Trump: "The Tweets are, I don't care... We need to make sure that we're changing the channel from this show that he's created. Because what matters, and I get it, look it's mesmerizing, it's hard for anybody to look away, me too. It is the nature of grotesque things that you can't look away."

Bret Hume responding to Trump whining and being his normal triggered snowflake self over Pete being on Fox News: "Say this for Buttigieg. He’s willing to be questioned by Chris Wallace, something you’ve barely done since you’ve been president," Hume tweeted, quoting Trump's initial criticism."

Give the town hall a watch. A lot of people are underestimating him. It might not happen in 2020, but he is the future of the progressive movement.

Despicable is on a “continuum”. You might find job growth, booming economy, national security, tax cuts, etc as something despicable but many others do not.
