The "Im Hoping We Lose Crowd" is Growing

SO glad people are finally supporting my viewpoint.

As I stated on this board Friday evening, it's GOT to get worse before we can ever hope it gets remotely better.

I hope TN beats Bama...other than that, hell, let them lose every game...which is a possibility at this point...

We started paying. Now, start winning.

:banghead2::banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

I'll never pull for us to lose, but I've gotten to the point this season that I don't care if we lose. Anyone who could make themself pull for the other team isn't a real fan.

if you ever pull for UT to lose in ANYTHING EVER. You are no fan.

Listen Mid. I personally don't care if you or anyone else believes I am a "fan" or not. I know how I feel about UT. I get goosebumps when I recall John Ward's calls. I feel a pride that causes my eyes to tear up when I see the team run through the T. Sometimes my voice will crack when I start to talk about former players and the plays they made while giving their ALL for Tennessee. The first song my daughter learned was Rocky Top.

I love the Vols and I only want whats best for the program. I happen to believe firmly that CPF is destroying this program. The ONLY thing that will get him removed is to lose. So even though it goes against a lifetime of loyalty, I hope for losses. I hope we don't win another game until that glorious press conference is called. We all want the Vols to succeed. We just have different opinions on what it will take.

I say if you aren't part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. GO HUSKIES!!!!!

I do pray CPF steps down before 10/25. I don't wanna have to say GO B#%@!

Hear, hear! As long as they get a 7 or 8 win season the "real fans" (as they like to call themselves) are happy. Acceptance of mediocrity seems to be a way of life with many.

I like your Eldridge Cleaver quote.

ASENINE!...I am sorry but no fan would want their team to lose at any cost...Expecting a loss is different and yes we will have more to come this year but if you claim to be a fan and the morning of the Bama game is upon us, then there is no way in hell that you are getting ready to watch that game hoping we lose to them...As said before, it is not the losses that will cost him his job...It is those fans that come to the games dressed as empty seats the will ultimately be the straw that is needed to break the camel's back...You can say what you want but I am glad these kids chose to wear the orange and they deserve better than some moron that claims to be a fan but wants them to lose.:furious3:

I am not a regular on this board so I am not sure how far I can go in responding to your namecalling. I guess I'll play it safe and just use an emoticon.

GoVols33. If you don't think losing to NIU would get Fulmer canned by Tuesday, I don't know what else to say.

GO HUSKIES!!!

The problem is that you've got the premise completely wrong. I WANT the Vols to win but I THINK Fulmer needs to step aside for ultimate success."

The question that begs to be asked is are we ready for some real struggles should the coaching change happen?

"We both think that Fulmer needs to step aside; the difference is that I wouldn't mind being proven wrong."

Ga Vol I could not agree more.

"I believe you think in simple terms. Regardless of who I "pull for" has no impact on the outcome. The sad reality, in my humble opinion, is that Hamilton cannot, or will not, make the decision that needs to be made. Fulmer has been lackluster (overall) since winning the whole enchilada in 1998. I feel that the only thing that will force Hamilton to make a change is, sadly, a losing season.
I was intrigued by this so I looked at some coaches records from 1998 to 2007. First just the records.
1.99-29
2.92-36
3.93-32
4.74-48
5.93-34
Now for who they are and I found this to be interesting.

1.99-29 Frank Beamer Believe it or not there are some here in Va who are calling for him to step down. He has been at his alma mater longer than CPF.
2.92-36 Bobby Bowden A couple of 7-6 seasons and some want him gone also.
3.93-32 LLoyd Carr He was asked to leave because he could not beat OSU.
4.74-48 Who the heck is this guy? Here at UT he would have been run out of town. This is Joe Paterno . Yes a lot of Penn State people wanted him gone also. But how should you replace an icon? I feel sorry for his eventual successor.
5.93-34 Phillip Fulmer OK OK he hasn't had us in the hunt for the NC or SEC crown lately or beaten UF. Lackluster is debatable but this just shows me how spoiled we have become.

I should not have to remind everyone about the cycles in sports. It is what it is.

Having said the above I also think that it is time for a change. I just hope that if there is a change that the new coach is there for the long haul and not a coach that will jump for greener pastures.

Lastly, there is no way that I could hope the Vols lose. NO WAY

Why is it you are always in that crowd? Geezus Holy Mary Mother of God. If this program makes you so absolutely miserable, why don't you just find something else to do for a while? Life's a bitch, learn to deal with it before you actually have to make it on your own.

I have been in this crowd since we lost to UCLA, but Im seeing many more joining this thought process. My Aunt and Uncle are big UGA fans in Dalton, Georgia. They are friends with a bunch of Tennessee alumni/fans. Im talking two doctors, one attorney and two influential businessmen etc... They said they are firmly in the, hope we lose crowd...

On another note, a prominent businessman from Loudon and UT alumni gave my father four tickets to the Mississippi State game, damn good tickets in section M, row 26 I think. Said he couldnt stomach it anymore and would probably be selling the rest of his season tickets on Ebay soon.

That whole 9-23 thing does not bother you?

I've never met a fan of any team that wished they'd lose this weekend

Ive never known a team that keeps inept coaching for such a long time, in fact even creates contracts for said inept coach which make it damn near impossible to fire the coach. I have no hope with Fulmer anymore, he took that all away so Im left with hoping we lose so a change WILL happen.

As for the "im not a fan" crap...cry me a river you bunch of pansies. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a few good men for the sake of something bigger. My UT ring, degree, VASF donation (which I cancelled), orange mother*ucking Tennessee shirt im wearing right this second says otherwise. Fulmer is leeching off of MY program and we are going nowhere fast. Hamilton wont get it unless we lose, well so be it!

I simply can not believe your extreme response! You are assuming a lot when you say crap like that... I don't hope the Vols lose... nobody does on this board, even those who say F it and to hell with it, it's just emotional! We're freaking in mourning and everyone mourns differently. How dare you compare UT football, however important it is, to those traitors and losers that protest soldiers funerals. I'm pissed at you.. I'll just say it. I'm a Republican and I love my country and I love the soldiers and our national defense and freakin college football are two totally different things. YOU get it straight!

actually, I really do hope we lose.

Ahh BHMVOL, the original buttkissing Fulmerite. Listen, I love football, I love college football, I went to the University of Tennessee, I love alma mater. Your demigod of a coach has stayed way too long and made us largely irrelevant on the national scene. Desperate times call for desperate measures and this is a desperate time. Now I know we could go 0-12 and you would keep Fulmer around anyway, so Im very sure this wont register in your head but it was worth a shot anyway.

Why yes it does.

Did you read what I said? See the last 2 sentences.

While you are at it take a look at number 4 & 5. If CPF was 74 -48 over the last 10 years we would not be having this conversation.
Once again, I happen to agree there needs to a change. That said like GA Vol said I would not mind being proven wrong. Why you ask? because for what he has done for his Alma Mater CPF deserves that much. Like it or not.

Name calling has no place here. There are difference of opinions, yes, but also a lack of understanding. We all want the team to win, no doubt. Those young men play their hearts out and deserve what they work for. I do not like seeing them lose, period. However, I believe Hamilton will not make any effort to effect change unless the season is miserable. Phil seems to have lost his touch. Look how long it took to make a change with Randy Sanders. It does not matter what one wishes for the outcome because we do not affect it. Not going to a game when you have tickets is essentially the same thing. You may feel good about yourself claiming to always support the team for a win, but that is hollow as you don't support Fulmer. He has a job that he is paid extremely well for, but he provides little performance. Think past your emotional attachment to the team, the school, whatever.

What is best for the team and the fans? Change of head coach. Now, how long will Hamilton let the suffering continue?
