What is really going on with Trump's taxes?

Losses due to write downs aren’t true losses.

I stated this would happen and here we are.

Idiots reviewing taxes way over their paygrade.

Example....very simple one....make 100k and buy a 125k navigator. Business writes off navigator all in same year due to gvw.

Business made 100k but shows a loss of 25k.

Why is this so hard for the left to get?
Exactly what is going to happen.

Take a minute...run get your latest tax return and go to the page where your net worth is. Let us know when you find it.

You can view several years of returns and get a very good idea of what a normalized free cash flow is for his properties and ascertain a value of his real estate holdings based on some commonly accepted valuation multiple.

Don’t you mean guesses ? Because that’s all you’ll be doing .

No. Not on his personal filings. Stop lying.
I'll trust Forbes and other valuation services that peg his NW at a fraction of what he claims.

My point about Trump is that he doesnt want the public to know how little he has reported as income over decades. Money is how he keeps score and its an ego thing for him. I've stated throughout I think everything him and his businesses has reported is legal and/or maybe grey. Hes too high profile of a person to do tax fraud, evasion and get away with it for 3 decades.

The problem is that it's way too complicated to be boiled down into our soundbite culture... which is exactly what the media will attempt to do.

You can bet CNN and MSNBC already has their 100 experts ready to go and it will be two weeks of non stop speculation . Just to start with .

That is correct. People will look at the returns for him and his businesses and stick to their sides talking points.

I think once the returns are released you will see some tax planning that is aggressive, legal, and optically a challenge for the POTUS. I think you will see individual and business returns that consistently show little tax profits. This will be an optics challenge for the POTUS and probably an ego blow for him since most people cant or wont understand his tax posture vs his claims.

That's right....the NY Times smear article today is an example. The people not informed on such tax matters are really the victims. Some are willfully duped.

In other words it won’t change anything for anybody .

If you wanna know, I know of a couple people who have been asked (and declined) those networks already for this...

High taxation?
So they are dumb?

Have you ever heard of Amazon? Do you know what it paid in taxes?

Yes, Amazon paid no US income tax due to NOLS, tax credits, shifting profitable intangibles/operations overseas and accelerated depreciation. (Edit - And stock option compensation)

Now that's some NOL carrying forward.

There is quite a difference between a start up tech company generating losses and NOLs from real estate transactions.

The one thing I'm curious about is whether Trump businesses shifted some of their IP overseas for business (tax) reasons. That may be one reason that he places so much value on branding when he refers to NW.

Ha ha, they are smart from avoiding MSNBC and CNN. Pretty sure their organizations dont want them on a partisan news outlet dissecting Trump's taxes..
