The "Im Hoping We Lose Crowd" is Growing

I want us to lose. Do you think there' going to be a coaching change if somehow we pick up a couple fluke wins and GA and FL (and well maybe Vandy) lose some pivotal games? That's only going to fuel Hamilton's fire of "we've been to 2/5 SECCG" argument.

Pretty much.

. . . and you would be sadly mistaken. I don't think CPF needs to coach past this season either.

The difference is that I don't think I'm smarter than everybody else and I believe that Fulmer will either succeed or fail and the powers that be are intelligent enough to deal with him accordingly.

I agree with GAVols premise. I would never hope for a Vols loss. Expect one maybe but never hope for one. Fundamental difference.

I am with you...... I want the kids to do well and succeed and I want to enjoy the games........

In the end..... Fulmer needs to go!

I think it's great that you wanted us to lose out after we lost one game.

By great, I mean sad.

there has been that little carry over effect into this year known as 1999-2007 (0 Championships of any substance) Its not after just one game, its after a whole hell of a lot.

As bad as we are I could never ever ever root for us to lose. You are not a true Vol fan if you ever root for the Big Orange to lose.

I have been to all 4 games this year and hoped for a miraculous win each time. Never did I hope for a loss, though I think the Auburn game really put me into the apathetic level of fandome.

DLV knows where I stand on this. By any means neccesary. 1-11 if need be! Torch the barn to kill the rats. You get the idea......

This is pathetic. No true fan would wish for their team to lose, no matter what good might come out of it.

Are you serious?

If the only way we can bring on change is via a few losses, you'd be against that? I think a TRUE fan would want their team to succeed not just be supported by a bunch of wet blanket, bed wetting, give-all-em-a-hug 'fans'.

Yahoo!! Let's win just enough games to stay a mediocre team at best for the next decade. That would be great.

Talk about losing your fan base...

for the record, it's pathetic to call oneself a fan yet root for losses.

Most know that I want change here as much as anyone else, but rooting for losses ain't what I'm about. There is plenty of evidence of need for change without losing more football games.

More losses just means worse recruiting, national irrelevance and deeper hole to dig from when we do get it right. No freaking thank you.

No that is losing your mind. Short term pain for long term gain!

I want a change, too, but put me in the camp that would never root for the team to fail. I also disagree with personal attacks referencing a person's weight, looks, etc.

This includes the players and the coaches, including the much maligned Crompton and Fulmer. I think we would all like to see some great turnaround by each of them (not just a one-season turnaround, but a return to prominence). Reality must rule, however, and I think we all know that such hopes are merely that.

I'm not rooting for the the VOLS to lose but the writing is on the wall, folks. If we win just barely enough games this year, CPF gets to stay on the gravy train and you all know what that will get us - MORE OF THE SAME!

There were lots and lots of threads on here over the past few months about VOL fans becoming complacent with a mediocre team. Over the past few days, those comments are being reinforced every minute. All this talk of continued support for our crappy team is only going to insure that we keep sucking well into the future.

CHANGE MUST COME NOW.
