Adding insult, some, like ESPN and 247, have been happy to point it out repeatedly.
Of course our coaches can point out their own record with the draft and that they had nothing to do with the current situation.
Just sad they have to waste time doing so. Just 1 more obstacle no matter how minor. All kids are different and some will keep it in the back of their minds, even though they shouldn't.
yeah, for me it was just more validation of what hte last 4 years have accumulated to be....and that it also validates the talent concerns a lot of us have had. you kept seeing stuff posted about average star ratings and average class ranking etc....as reasons we should expect better results.

the reality was no where near as close to what those ratings/rankings would have you think.

and you don't have to do anything but look at the last 4 drafts as evidence. what those classes looked like in 2014, 15, and 16 does not match at all what htey wound up being in the end.....all kinds of reasons for that to be the case...but that is the case.

no where to go but up. this staff has elite recruiters and coaches. they've won a bunch of championships, they've sent a lot of kids to the NFL.

it'll happen here too. it's just NOT going to be as fast as a lot of folks believed, hoped, expect or wanted it to be.

i really need to go see endgame. i've avoided spoilers for 4 days. both my brothers and their family have seen it so dinner at mom and dad's last night was a lot of me doing this:

My son (19) came home last night and said let's go. I said no way, it's going on 10:00. Then I thought not many of these opportunities so I said let's do it. He was shocked. We went to the 10:30 showing. Got home at 2:30. I'm dragging big time. But his candy azz is still home in bed.

That episode was garbage. Too dark, literally. Pacing was terrible. Music was weird.
Dany and Jon are idiots.

Arya is the only saving grace at this point.

Can you imagine how Pruitt felt when he realized just how bad a situation it was? Then to have some take plays off while others were giving their all, that had to be frustrating. How many have a chance to be drafted from this senior class?

Get the freak out of here with the football talk. This is the GOT and Endgame thread.

I'd say white board kicking, level of frustration.

i'm not even going to hazard a guess for next year's draft. so much will depend on what happens with certain players this year on the field....but i would think guys like Taylor, BItuli, Gooden, Warrior are going to have big opportunities to turn some heads this season.

offensively....DWA and Jennings will have a chance.

i mean if things go well, and these guys are productive and can get on the radar screen....maybe 4-6 guys have a shot at it?

which would be huge for validating Pruitt and this staff...so i hope it happens obviously.

as for what he walked in to...well, i think a lot of us knew it was pretty bad...and i'm sure he knew a lot more than we did having game planned against many of these players, scouted them.......and also knowing he didn't actively try to recruit many of them either....that probably told him A LOT. just go up and down the roster and realize that half of these kids "i didn't go after"....

probably very telling, if the truth was told.

You mean someone the character who spent half of the entire series training to be a covert assassin used those very skills to kill the Night King? Thats crazy man

That scene still needs some 'splaining because she was still trapped in a room with Melisandra and the Hound with white walkers at the doors and then suddenly she is leaping at the Night King in the Weirwood.

I knew it wasn't good, didn't know it was this bad. Thought some scheming and better conditioning would pick up another game.

Yeah, I got a little ***** slapped by reality.

i did the same thing...i was like:

Damnit. I ****ed up.

I clicked Nicks spoiler tag too quickly thinking it was GOT and now I know something I shouldn’t about endgame. Ive tried so hard to avoid those spoilers all over the internet and then I completely screwed myself.

Dang fellas, I hate that for ya. One of the reasons I didn’t post anything earlier.

But for Pete’s sake... I literally labeled it Endgame Spoiler, lol

hot take: if there were no sex and nudity in GOT nobody would watch it

Bad take. You take all that stuff out and the viewing audience possibly gets even bigger. Lots of people don't watch simply because of all the nudity and sex scenes. I'm around season 4 (trying hard to catch up before the final episode) and the story lines are second to none. Being a Vol fan your whole life, you should love all the drama of this show lol

if there were no sex and nudity I would give it a shot. As it is, no thanks. Lol at big newt if he read this!

i think we all have. losing 5 of 7 to vandy...0fer against muschamp...getting doors blown off by MO, relatively regularly...

it wasn't just a matter of "coaching them up". there was, and has been, a talent deficiency...and for the last 4 years, you combine that with a guy that was completely mis managing the program from a personnel standpoint, and this is what we get.

people are going to have to be patient with Pruitt and this staff. it may really take 2-3 cycles....i think they only way that gets sped up quite a bit is if we do something on the field that no one expects,, like win the East or something crazy, and see 5, 6 or more guys get drafted next April. then it's tangible....it's a result that sells the coaches AND Tennessee. not just the promise of better things to come.....someday....hopefully. lol.

otherwise, it's probably oing to take last year's cycle, this year's and maybe 21 to really get back.

Bias aside, I think Taylor is the only one I feel confident about being drafted right now. I could definitely see Gooden, DWA and Warrior working their way into a spot late and definitely UDFA. I see Jennings and Bituli as UDFA at best right now, IMO. Just from seeing the list of guys that went undrafted. Hopefully they all show out and this is completely off base by next year!

Pruitt needs at least 4 years. Consistently getting better, but he needs 4 years. We can not afford another coaching change any time soon. We need stability in a bad way.

yeah, none of those are predictions. just guys that would likely have a chance at really standing out this season if all goes well.

i do think there's more opportunities on the defense than the offense presently. DWA has the physical tools NFL GM's would want. he gets better around the LOS and proves to be able to be a signficant contributor to the offense....how is he on 3rd down attempts? in the red zone? run blocking, pass blocking? he may be the best NFL prospect on the offense....today.

i still think there's reason to be optimistic about this year, as far as seeing improvement over the last two seasons.

but when you start the coversation of being competitive at the top of the conf....we got a ways to go on that front.
