How many times do I have to remind everyone I was using hyperbole??? He wasn't even playing RB his senior season. When’s Maliek Grey gonna take over the starting RB?
You should write a users manual. How many times do I have to remind everyone I was using hyperbole??? He wasn't even playing RB his senior season.
You and Bearcat keep bringing that up like I was serious about it. Furthermore, I told everyone before he signed that he was overrated.
Which should have let people know that I was NOT serious about M Gray being a good player....
I am very serious about Brian Maurer- the freshman who threw 2 picks during the spring game- being the starter come fall.
I think Maurer has a ton of potential. Those thinking Bailey is just going to come in and pass him are selling Brian short. But, without knowing where the o line is, I can't see how throwing him into the snake pit benefits anyone. If the o line is better, JG will be better, and likely play out the season. He won't be a world beater, but he'll get us to a bowl. If they aren't then Jarrett will likely be out at some point. In that case, his backup is going to get shelled in his effort to replace him, for the same reason. Would you rather Maurer or Shrout take that beating? Either we won't need him or playing him will be counter productive to his development. Let him redshirt, if at all possible
Yes, I basically agree, but in between those scenario extremes, I hope that both Shrout and Maurer get in at least two of the first three games, not due to problem with JG, and yes I am thankful for the new rule of play up to 4 and still redshirt.
It's not clear at all who's the back up. Then we have summer and fall to work through.
Maurer has a little magic...
You'll see soon.
We've only seen Maurer during the OW game which has no indication of how great the player will actually be. I will say, I was/am a believer in Dormady (in the sense of Peterman) but he never lived up to his 10/10 from the OW game. I liked what I saw from Maurer during the spring but a redshirt and 4 games (if he plays in those) will do him well. He's not ready to start in the SEC and he has a great opportunity to learn from JG, Weinke, Chaney, and some veteran WRs that might propel him over Bailey during his arrival.
I think they would love to redshirt him but I have heard he is the #2 and may be the most talented of the 3. He may not be listed as the #2 but if JG went down for good, I think Maurer leapfrogs Shrout.
One doesn’t get a narrative second hand.Funny considering an article just went out today about JT.... @DeerPark12 is around the program every single day and stated that Shrout is definitely the #2 and I don’t remember who said it but someone else said they were at one of the practices and all he was hearing was about how good JT was. So.... dunno how people keep getting the Maurer narrative especially after this Spring Game.
