All year they've gone through these phases during games where they appear to zone out for about 10 minutes. Lack of focus, lack of effort...whatever it is, you don't see it in teams that advance far.Admittedly I don't watch a lot of Predators hockey, but I sure didn't see anything last night that I'd call a lack of effort. If Laviolette is already trying to throw his players under the bus while his PP looks uncoached then he needs to GTFO

I get that, but with this squad they can play well for 2 periods, be up 2-0 going into the 3rd, then get totally dominated for 7 out of 20 minutes of the 3rd period, allow 4 goals during that stretch, and lose. It's less of an ebb and flow and more of an on/off switch they seem to have. There's an ebb and flow to every hockey game. I mean, it's a sport which is so grueling the players can only go for one to two minutes at a time, so there are going to be stretches when it seems like the ice is tilted the other way. I don't really think it's fair to call that an effort problem.
The main thing I noticed last night is that Nashville seemed both bigger and a little slower than I remembered from last year. Did they make any significant changes, other than Simmonds? Maybe just seeing him makes me think the whole team is made up of Flyers.
Feel better than I did. Offense is legit. I’m still worried about pitching and catcher. Hope they make some in season moves there. The pitching has looked good but it has been against the struggling cubs and Rockies and the crappie marlins. So I still hope we get some help in the bullpen. If Fried is what he appears to be tho the starting pitching looks much betterStill early, only 11 games in, but how’s everyone feeling about the Braves now that we’ve gotten over that terrible start
