Hearing that Rick is adding Kim English to to his basketball staff. Played at Mizzou, had a stop at Tulsa where he worked for Frank Haith (that’s the tie to Barnes). Has been at Colorado for the past two seasons.

As posted earlier think that Jonas Hayes will get a call if Des Oliver gets the Kennesaw St job but that is still pending.

Schwartz is going to be the de facto replacement for Lanier. Gonna get a big salary bump and probably associate head coach title based on what I’m hearing.

I was talking about Calipari. Kentucky has a state income tax...but nothing close to Cali. They offered him $8 mil to leave a more prestigious $9 mil job...but he listened. Kentucky recruits gonna be spooked as well? 😉

We sucked and were one of the highest rev programs in the country. Everyone complains we are sitting in the money and wouldn’t spend to win. Win and enrollment will increase making more money. Bama can’t build dorms fast enough money can be made in more than sports for a University.

Now we are spending and people want to complain. We should be celebrating. This isn’t directed at you DEVO. Just seeing it all over the board and wanted to address it. Yes, we better win or it won’t work. But as fans, we need to see some of that money being put back into sports. About freaking time. Thanks Randy and Phil.

Harper is a solid hire, she checked all the boxes that Phil & co wanted to check. I think she was a top 3 candidate from the beginning. And people act like she was absolutely awful at NC State, which simply isn't the case. She was 70-64, went 20-14, 14-17, 19-16, 17-17. I think NC State let her go a little too quickly, but they found a great replacement in Wes Moore. I'm glad she had that experience though should make her a better coach. She's probably not the best they could have got, but she may be the best thing for the Lady Vols. We'll see if she can turn the corner with better facilities/talent.

Grant's about to go down as a VFL legend when he announces his return for one more year, I hope it entices Bone to return as well if he does't get a first round evaluation.

Seeing similar debates in every forum over Barnes.
It's just more simple for me. I'm not mad at Rick for exploring enticing job offers or for getting paid. I have zero issues with that.
I'm also not into the him being Tennessee's coach so he gets tons of love and money with zero expectations.

He performed really well and deserved really good compensation. He played it really well and got great compensation instead. The future results should match the pay.

Not going to begrudge him and not going to join those that inevitably will demand full support despite results. Fell for it with fb coaches too many times. Take your check, bring the wins. Simple enough.

Thank you. For all we know he just wanted more money for his assistants and wanted to know that Fulmer and the AD was committed to hoops and what he has built in a relatively short period of time. Which it is completely reasonable for him to inquire about those things. The fact that some people are drawing concrete conclusions on Barnes' Character and his intentions based off of some message board rumors is asinine to me. He hasn't burned any bridges with people who matter at the University and as long as he keeps putting a good product on the floor his image will be fine.

it's the idea he did something wrong or did something that should make people think differently of him as a person or coach.....that doesn't jive. i don't get that at all.

he's now the 3rd highest paid coach in the america.

the expectation should most definitley be he sustain, and build on, the success he's already had.....but that should have been the case whether he got the UCLA offer or not.

that offer just helped facilitate what he thought was necessary to do so....and he took advantage of it....
