They already planned an appreciation event for the BasketVols this weekend as part of the All Vol hoopla. Would have been embarrassing if there were no coaches.

I know UT gave him the salary pool bump, so I guess in the end that was enough to placate him. If that's all this was, it could have been handled much better. I still think he was interested in the UCLA job and led them to believe he would take it, if offered. IDT pulling a power play will work out well for him in the end. But he got free burgers and scrambled eggs for life out of the deal.

Eh, that’s harsh. I agree that’s it is disappointing to go through this. But next year was always going to be “down” compared to this year and probably last year.

I hate to see what some our fans will say. People already roasting him for just a SS.

I would agree if all the rumors are being driven by CRB. But I'm not going to assume that. He has apparently been offered a job and apparently considered it. No harm in that. The rest, speculation, rumors, etc., may be none of his doing.

Agreed. Maybe it was an insurance policy IDK... I don’t either just didn’t really seem warranted barring him just getting the Coach of the Year award... there is probably something else I don’t know that happened behind closed doors but nevertheless he put a target on his back... he really needs to win and win fast next year...

Lol who can argue with free food.

If this is how the UT fanbase feels, Fulmer should grow a pair and let Barnes go and give this fanbase what they seem to love best: unending coaching searches, settling for the tenth choice coach, slapping unrealistic expectations on coaches, moaning and complaining when coaches don’t win every game, and then throwing the coaches in the Tennessee river when they fail to perform and recruit amidst all that turmoil and complaining.
