Rick Barnes has emerged as a serious candidate the for UCLA job, reportedly has interviewed

I think it's about lack of appreciation but one way to feel appreciated is through your paycheck....
Rick's gotten about everything he's asked for. He's paid top 15 money, second in the SEC. It would be hard for me to imagine him feeling unappreciated.

If he leaves to go to UCLA then he is the enemy and deserves no respect. I know he’s been given EVERYTHING he needed to be successful and glad he has been. But this would be a stab in the bag. Read it again. IF is a big word in the post.
Honestly, I consider what Bruce did as more of a stab in the back. But to each their own, I guess.

I see that now that I look it up. No idea why I thought they were that far away.

Maybe my dumb ass is thinking of UC Irvine or some crap. lmao
Yeah, UC Irvine, Cal St Fullerton are in the OC. It’s a big place, a lot of cities and towns to keep straight.

I'd feel bad for UT fans. I don't know much about Barnes personally and I think he's a coach who consistently sucks in the tournament, when it matters most. That being said...he's not a bad coach, and I think he can continue to keep UT playing at a high level. Don't want him to leave. I like seeing UT competitive.
I'm ok with Barnes leaving (not saying I want him to, just that I won't be all that disappointed). We are in a FAR better position that when we lucked into him being fired. IF it happens, I think Tennessee will be ok

If UCLA offers 8-9 million a year, Barnes would be insane not to take it. Theres no way UT will offer more than 5 million.
Bruce has to be the first call.

Leonard Hamilton and Bruce Pearl have to be the first two candidates in that possible situation

You can be a devout Christian and live in a major city. Faith isn’t limited to rural, southern life. As another poster mentioned, ever been to Austin? One of the most liberal cities in America.
While I agree, I wonder if the culture there would be the same. Barnes encourages talk of faith after games, I wonder how that would be received on the campus at UCLA.

Exactly. I felt like when Barnes was hired, his job was to set the stage for the next guy. I'm not sure that leaving now is ideal, but UT is definitely in a better place than four years ago.

This is interesting. Could there be more to this story? Between Turner tweeting about barnes saying it wasnt a foul and then admiral tweeting about wishing hed seen his coach show something, maybe not everything was as great as it seemed behind doors. Never a dull moment in Knoxville
