Rick Barnes has emerged as a serious candidate the for UCLA job, reportedly has interviewed

Wow. Grow up.

I know D 1 coaches. Say make all the money they can because it can all go away at anytime. Thing is, Rick has been at it long enough that he is set. If he wants to leave, then go. We will hire someone else and get to the sweet 16 again. Heck, Martin did it and he’s not a great coach.

Trey Wallace is live now. Not really saying anything. Says to stay tuned to Dan Harralson

Yeah, he’s saying both interviewed and Barnes is frontrunner. I don’t see Barnes’ faith and his comfortable job here being that comfortable in CA

You can be a devout Christian and live in a major city. Faith isn’t limited to rural, southern life. As another poster mentioned, ever been to Austin? One of the most liberal cities in America.

Why start over?

He has it made here.
He probably reasonably fears we are a bunch of ingrates who will fire him for one false move. Just this morning there were about a half dozen threads with people arguing that he still had to "prove himself", that our team was a failure, and we'd be better off with Pearl.

Hence the if he’s really considering it. Also, pretty sure he is and I am pissed.

To show that level of disrespect to someone that's done nothing but rep Tennessee to the fullest and improve this dumpster fire of a program really shows how childish you are. Grow up.

Buzz got $3.8. Barnes hasn't even got his annual review yet. There's a decent chance he could get extend and another raise. That's sort of how it's done.

I'm just saying this rumored AD "strife" is likely due to Barnes (and his agent) not feeling appreciated enough in the pocketbook after the last 2 seasons and taking action into his own hands...

Tennessee won’t bring back Pearl if Barnes leaves.
Bruce refused to cooperate with Auburn’s internal investigation over Chuck Person. Tennessee would have probably fired Bruce for that. Auburn apparently decided he’s winning enough to be above it all.

Yeah, plenty of conservative people in LA. Just live in Orange County. You can find pockets of people anywhere. I'm a transplant liberal non-religious dude and I like Tennessee just fine.
