Tebow > Fulmer/Crompton

Because he does. I can't wait to hear him say "we're still in a good position, we just got to play like we are capable of." Maybe if he got to wear a green jersey on Saturdays he'd be as good as he is in practice

I don't think he says anything that much different than most other QBs say. It just sounds bad when he says because of how poorly he's playing. I don't expect him to come out and say, "We suck and next week that is likely to continue."

I suppose. A lot of people think Crompton comes across as pretty arrogant. There aren't a whole lot of arrogant jerks that travel to another hemisphere to talk about how they owe all their successes to a higher power.

The world is full of missionaries. Please.

1. Real UT fans never ADMIT to being impressed by anyone from FL, LSU, GA, or the likes....

2. Yes, we realize Crompton's AND Fulmer's shortcomings...

3. At least Crompton hasn't cried yet....
There's nothing wrong with saying Tebow is a great player, classy, and a very good leader. I couldn't say any of those about our QB. Sorry if the truth hurts.

How many play college football, minus the Cougars of BYU? Also, why does that diminish what Tebow does?

I imagine that most of them aren't arrogant or don't publicly minimize their role in their own accomplishments.

REAL missionaries (and I have friends that are REAL missionaries) don't take camera crews with them when they deliver the Gospel and they sure don't use their service to glorify themselves. Y'all can worship and adore Tebow all you want to. It's no skin off my nose. Just don't get mad at me when I refuse to bow at his altar.

Ok, Tebow is a missionary...he's still human. Being a missionary doesn't automatically make someone inherently better than other people. It doesn't make them immune to being egotistical and it doesn't explain why he's playing for a man like Myer-and we all know what type of man he is. There are dozens of programs with more reputable coaches and programs of more integrity than Florida.

I certainly don't bow at Tebow. I do give credit where credit is due, and Tebow is an amazing player.

I wouldn't say any of those things about our QB OR Tebow. Definitely wouldn't call either of them classy. We need more Peytons and fewer Tebows.

Not mad at you. And who's to say those TV crews aren't reaching some people back home? When I think about Tebow and how arrogant he apparently is I'm reminded of my college days. I knew a lot of guys that would brag endlessly about accomplishments in intramural flag football or whatever. Lots of 20 year old guys are like that. I can't help but think if those guys were in the position that Tim Tebow is currently in, not only would they conduct interviews much differently, but I'd say most of their free time would be devoted to walking into sorority meetings and requesting a 70some.

He lost today and dropped four games last year. Why do people think this guy walks on water?

Peyton Manning lost a few games his first year as a starter. Vol fans didn't take long to adopt him as a demigod.

:eek:lol:

I did NOT expect that.

Who's to say he doesn't do that? To say a 20 something y/o man who's in great physical shape and who's the most well-known guy on his campus doesn't do anything like that or similar is a lot to take on. Some people are good. Some people are good at making themselves seem better than they are.

Not saying he's the first or the latter. I'm just saying.

Vol fans making Peyton a demigod makes sense.

Vol fans making Tebow a demigod is crazy talk.

I think he's really good, but a lot of it is the system he is in. He and Florida are a perfect fit which is why he's been so successful.

I'd be more on board with that idea if he wasn't doing the exact same things he's been doing long before he was ever in the public eye.

Who said he's a demi-god. I stated he was a great player, classy, and a very good leader. All true statements, IMO. As to the other poster, what has he done that makes him classless, other than sign with UF/Urban Myer, which is not a reason to label him as such?

I've grown up with tons of guys who've been just like he appears to be-wholesome, good-hearted, faithful guys. The catch? They were only like that when they had to be. One guy in particular had my parents convinced he was a saint, but he was the biggest perv I've ever met in my life...and he still is. It's been years since I've seen him, and my parents STILL talk about him.

Seriously though, I'm not saying Tebow is like that. I'm saying, we have no way to prove he's a good guy or a bad. BUT, he does talk about himself a lot and I've never seen a missionary kiss his male roommate.
