Tebow > Fulmer/Crompton

If the accuracy is off, what good is the statement? I don't want lipservice from a QB or anybody for that matter

I was saying the accuracy may not be correct, but then again how are you going to monitor how hard other folks work in their locker rooms or with their teammates?

It's a statement of ... hey... I'm taking the blame, and I'm going to lead my team and make sure we step up our game.

It's not that the uniform is different....it's that it's a FLORIDA uniform. No respect for them at all.

I waited tables on the strip my first year or two here at college and never have I ever had a set of fans be so disrespectful. Pooring beers on me, bumping into me while my hands were full, trying to leave without paying tabs, making fun of me and the other staff members, and not tipping....seriously, even when Alabama and Cal fans were at the bar singing their fight songs at the top of their lungs, it was friendly competition...can't say the same for the Florida fans.

They need to earn my respect.

Could the same not be said of any other fans, including UT fans, at various bars at some point in time? You can't judge an entire population off of a small set of experiences. (Except with LSU, as apparently everyone feels the same way about them.)

And not playing ball well? I guess following up a season of 32 passing TDs and 23 rushing TDs is hard to do. He's thrown 6 TDs and 0 picks; also had a QB rating of 149 coming into the Ole Miss game.

I don't respect Tim Tebow because he would go out there and play a team by himself if Meyer would let him. The very tone of his response ( I am sorry, I will play hard, I will push this team, blah, blah, blah) suggests that he sees himself as the most important factor to the Gators having a successful season, and while he may be right, a little humility goes a long way on the road to greatness.

to be honest, i think it would be hard for alot of people not to have a bit of an ego when you have already won the heisman, broken school records, and won a national title by the end of your sophomore year. he knows what fans expect from him, which is why you see alot of the "I" comments.

''I'm sorry. I'm extremely sorry,'' he said. ''We were hoping for an undefeated season. That was my goal, something Florida's never done here. But I promise you one thing: a lot of good will come out of this.

''You have never seen any player in the entire country play as hard as I will play the rest of this season and you'll never see someone push the rest of the team as hard as I will push everybody the rest of this season, and you'll never see a team play harder than we will the rest of this season.''

In other words, "I am great, therefore my will must be imposed. The world must NEVER think Tim Tebow deserved to get beat."

And everybody may find this hard to believe, but Tebow is not the best player on that team and it's not even close. A healthy Percy Harvin is the best athlete on that team, he had something like over 250 yards of total offense by HIMSELF

I agree with you. Tim Tebow is a mondo self-righteous, self-advertising douchebag.

Sounds like he's on a mission to do better and wants to lead by example. I prefer that over some UT DL calling out other players and then failing to make the grades necessary to play in the bowl game.

I don't know if I'd say it isn't close. Losing Tebow would be a bigger blow than losing Harvin.

Exactly.

I guess everyone prefers the "I'll have to look at the tape." "No comment." "I don't know what happened." "We are only one or two plays away from a win." quarterback.

At least McNeil is tired of excuses (as noted in the other thread):
“We proved last year that you can reach the SEC title game with two losses,” McNeil said. “But this business about being snakebit is getting old. You might be snakebit once. But with us, we might as well take the snake out of the box and put it on our arm.”

Ok, so maybe I exagerated a little bit:). But, if Harvin doesn't play as well as he did today, Ole Miss would have won by a lot more than 1 point

I guess anybody could put any kind of spin on it that they wanted to. All I hear is arrogance.

Harvin and Tebow are in the top 3 offensive players in the SEC. Harvin might be better, but Tebow isn't exactly your average QB.

I suppose. A lot of people think Crompton comes across as pretty arrogant. There aren't a whole lot of arrogant jerks that travel to another hemisphere to talk about how they owe all their successes to a higher power.

Because he does. I can't wait to hear him say "we're still in a good position, we just got to play like we are capable of." Maybe if he got to wear a green jersey on Saturdays he'd be as good as he is in practice

Its called being a leader. We don't seem to have any. Just a bunch of talent running around with no direction.

We dont have any leaders playing so far but if Coleman was playing I promise we'd have a leader! I've known him and seen him since he was younger. He has the traits and attitude of someone mature beyond his years. He is intelligent and conducts himself like a " Peyton Manning". I'm not saying talentwise he's ready to be a P.M. but leadership wise he definitely would help! For God's sake it would be better than what we have now! I obviously haven't seen him in practice at UT but I can't imagine him not being intelligent enough to grasp the offense better than J.C. Understanding/intelligence is more important than sheer talent! (although I dont think that is why J.C. plays) I don't know much of Stephens but he may work just as well. Somethings gotta give. This time of year I live for Saturday UT games! BTW Coleman was recruited by Cutcliffe and I think he's a good judge of QBs
