Crompton QB thread (merged a lot)

AJ Suggs led Tennessee to a comeback against LSU in Baton Rouge and almost won the game. Crompton would have likely gotten us negative points in that game.

Phil has a huge leash with plenty of slack on it for the worst QB i have ever seen. What does this say about B.J and Nick no way there that bad.

maybe they are though; plus you cant just throw a qb out into traffic and expect them to do well

how bout he's suggs? nothing good came of that guy's starting

aj actually had some accuracy to his passes. he could put up decent numbers but never could win the big games. suggs actually started for ga tech for awhile after he left ut. he is nowhere near as bad as crompton is right now.

What is the definition of insanity??

Try the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Nick or BJ can't be any worse.

If Fulmer insists on continuing to play Crompton he should get his walking papers pronto. In following Tennessee football for 40+ years this QB is the worst i've ever seen. For everyone calling for Fulmer's head, playing Crompton after today could seal his fate.

The way you played is why we BOO you. Anyone who wouldn't have booed his performance today is either blind or the biggest freaking homer alive.

Yeah. I was there; so was Hatvol.

Suggs played well......1000x better that anything Crompton has done.

The time for honoring yourself will soon be over JC, as well as your consistentcy in failing to live up to your own hype. ''finite eligibility is a great thing''

I agree with the comparison. In the thread about Crompton being the worst Qb ever, Mathews, Suggs, and Leak were the only once I could think of recently that were close. But, I think JC is the worst of that bunch.

Matthews would have been better. It would seem that after you run your head into a brick wall repeatedly, you would finally figure out the wall is going to win.

Matthews accomplished nothing. He didn't even want to play in the blowout victories Clausen directed.

I'm dumbfounded with Crompton's ability to play football. He looks completely lost and unable to compete in the SEC.

as a former football player myself, i can say with most certainty that the goal line fumble (this week) was not the fault of Jonathan Crompton. as a former tailback, i know that you are supposed to open your arms much wider than Foster did to accept a handoff from the QB. The announcers are retarded and many fans have just fell in line with CBS's analysis of that play. it was most definitely a fundamental flaw by Arian Foster.

Im not saying Crompton played well, because he did not, but when he did make a decent throw, it was dropped. this makes it very hard to gain any momentum or rhythm. but my only point is that the goal line fumble should not be shouldered by Crompton.

his function is to put the ball in there. If he can't get it in there, he eats it, period.

I agree that Foster's arms weren't very wide, but they were plenty wide and the QB has the responsibility every single time.
