I was great in high school. Granted I played for a small Christian school in a Christian school league so not exactly 4A stuff. I walked on for about 2 weeks at UTC thinking I was much better than I actually was. After two weeks of getting destroyed I walked right off. Very, very humbling experience. I did meet Terrell Owens though so that was cool.

I played for 13 years and I feel every minute of my playing days on a daily basis. Multiple knee surgeries on each knee and back surgery. And yes, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
No doubt, played 15 years myself so I know what's your talking about especially the knees, I also played catcher during baseball season for almost the same amount of time so I received a double dose. But like you it was Some of the best times of my life

I was 135 soaking wet and wearing boots in high school, so I'm glad I was smart enough to play baseball instead. I did play in middle school, but I never really got comfortable throwing my body around with reckless abandon. However, the experience was enough to gain a huge appreciation for those who do.

I started playing Pop Warner ball when I was 8 and I played all through high school. So, roughly 10 years. I was a running back up through middle school. Then I played WR for my high school freshman team. Beyond that, I played FS for the varsity, which was easily my favorite position, although I didn't start until my senior year.

I was admittedly better at running track than playing football. In fact if I could do it over, I'd probably have concentrated more on that. I still love running to this day.

I find this really interesting. This wasn’t so much a post to gauge knowledge as suggested on page 1, but more of a post to see what experience the board has.

My thought process was that by in large the fans that interact here are likely some of the more dedicated amongst the fan base.

I played in the USFL under spurrier. Just kidding. I played pre hs. I was 100 lbs soaking wet as a HS freshman but grew to 6’2 and 220 lbs by early college. Guess you could say I was a late bloomer. Dang it.

I played junior high and high school ball, played for the same HS as our soon to be monster ILB No27 Crouch..Harding HS in Charlotte, NC. I am a displaced Tennessean, married a carolina girl and had 2 kids so i am stuck over here in the piedmont instead of the hills. Playing football in pads is entirely different from backyard ball for those who didnt play. I played defense and our coaches always told us that if we couldnt get to the ballcarrier or QB, we had better lay somebody out. Every play. Most fun i have ever had in my life hands down. The games are easy, practice will kill you. Crab walking up steep hills and walking down backwards...running suicide sprints...all in full pads and 95 degree Charlotte weather...dont miss that part a bit.

I played from 3rd grade through high school. In the 9 years that I played, not once did I ever get hurt (at least not seriously injured). 3 weeks after my senior season, I broke my ankle in a church league basketball game LOL!
