I'm sorry man. You're a good poster. It just really gets under my skin with the political discourse in this country, on both sides. It seems no one can have a discussion without it turning nasty. People get accosted on the street, in restaurants, etc over political views. It's out of hand. We don't have any respect for one another these days.

Calm down Rambo. I might punch the guy, but if I did, it would be my anger and rightly so.
It's a liberty with words however, to say "defend yourself" when discussing an egg.😏

Unless of course, you had a trauma event as a child. Something along the lines of being cornered and attacked by an entire gang of egg wielding Flock of Seagulls fans etc..

I'm not ashamed to say I would punch the guy. Any unwanted physical contact by another is considered assault by the law. You also have to understand the human reflex to even the slightest pain, especially unexpected. You have little control sometimes how you react, the mind takes over.

Example, I was helping out with Bible School one week. I was helping out with five year olds I think. This little boy comes up and taps me on the back. I turn around and he punches me right in the family jewels. Instinctively, I sort of slapped the top of his head with my open palm, very lightly. It was just a reflex. It wouldn't have been a problem but I was wearing a big class ring and it was turned backwards on my hand. It almost knocked the kid out. I felt terrible but I literally had no control.

I said that I might punch the guy because it is reflex. Just picking on you because I cannot use the phrase "defend myself" over an egg. It's an eggsageration.

I see everyone's point about this not really being "assault" especially from a snot nosed kid. However, if he gets away with this without any punishment, then you will have an army of crazy people on both sides of the political aisle slapping who knows what on anybody they don't like. You gotta make an example of him to prevent chaos.

Aren't you the eggspert. Personally think more politicians need rotten food, soggy trash, eggs, and other harmless projectiles lobbed at them. Kudos to the young man for having the brass to egg the POS and then take his weak azz old man punches. Don't come at me about #Respect either, politicians don't deserve it; not today's politicians. Bunch of self-serving charlatans.

Gotta admit, the kid looked like a 16 yr old weighing in around 130 pounds. The old guy should be more embarrassed by his sorry azz punching ability than the eggtack.

I did proactively tell the parents when they picked him up and apologized profusely. The mother gave me a smirk and walked off, the dad said he deserved it.
