JG helping out Shrout

I have trouble with liking what you say, not because you say it, but what it conveys. Which to me says our QB corp is in bad shape.

To belay some of my "troubling thoughts" is the comfort that many coaches who played sports games, were not very good as players. But that being said, they have made excellent coaches. (don't ask me to name some, they just have to be pointed out to me by the "babblers" during games)

Saban played at Kent State.........may have been good at Kent St but you get the drift.

The only person who has freaked out so far as you. There was one shot at JG... and several blame shifts, excuses, et al that had pretty much nothing to do with the OP. For instance: "As much as JG got hit, he probably had PTSD ..." But it is OK to "bash" the OL, right? Maybe the "bashers" of the OL should stop watching UT football.... right?

We had better hope JG has improved a lot since last season. He IS the QB and after him we only have raw players. I believe JG will be better with Chaney's coaching and maybe better protection. We need to get behind him and hope he has an all SEC year.

But you don't know if he will be the "same player" as we saw last year. I expect our line to be improved at least some and under Chaney and Weinke, I expect JG to improve too.

If Chaney thinks its time to move on, I have no question we will.

So if he improves as much as he did from the first to second we will be good.

I may be over reacting (and probably so) but I'd rather read that JG was dragging the young QBs into the film room with him. It's a leadership sort of thing that would look good on a returning QB.

If this be the case, what were we basing his ability to be a good big time college QB on? I don't remember his "hype" and if it was really proven to use experts. Seems it would be hard to prove with just one year of HS competition. (there have been many flash in the pan game players over the years) Or could it have been we thought he was a "project"? If this were so, wonder if we have the place and development time for this type prospect right now. Or were we grasping at straws? Just don't remember the circumstances.

As I recall, he had been highly praised by NFL scouts, and was known by our last Offensive Coordinator.

He was doing pretty well against AL when JG went out. Back to back, down the field touchdowns, then Pruitt told the team at halftime, we aren’t going to pass, but run the ball for the second half.
