If we're talking about quality of player in his prime, Emmitt is nowhere near the top 5.

I'd take Dickerson or Campbell over Emmitt.

Fred Taylor is Emmitt Smith had Emmitt played for anyone but the Cowboys

I didn't have them in any order, but it would be extremely hard to justify putting Barry ahead of Jim Brown.

Brown is the greatest runningback to put on shoulder pads.

This is all strictly opinion though.
I wouldn't put Barry ahead of Earl Campbell, Jim Brown, Gale Sayers or OJ.

I would take Bo Jackson over Dickerson. Jackson was greater than Allen, but Allen was still pretty good.
Bo Jackson had greater potential, but performed to it. He wasn't ever the NFL runner that Dickerson was and Allen was Marshall Faulk before Faulk and was for a long time.

Honestly it would be a toss up for me between Payton and Sanders as to the greatest of all time. A guy that runs for 2600 yards in one season can not be over looked.

Earl didn't play long enough to get the props he deserves. He looked like he could kill someone with the way he ran.

But, Barry could make people miss him while locked in a phone booth.

I'd have Barry third all-time but I'm biased.
