Vols Schedule Will Change Starting in 2020

So this is our probable 2020 schedule. Looks a lot better to me:

Charlotte
@Oklahoma
Furman
Florida
Mizzou
@Arkansas
Alabama
@South Carolina
TBD Cupcake OOC Home Game
@UGA
Kentucky
@Vanderbilt

I also like that the Missouri game happens earlier. Weather-wise, it would be much more preferable to travel up there in late September/early October that having to go up there in mid-/late-November.

Maybe we can get Kentucky moved to fill georgia’s spot now in late September or early October.

I like gettting Vandy and Kentucky as late as possible in their schedule. They have usually already played their best games earlier in the season. They are usually tired, defeated teams by then.

I also would like to play Florida as late as possible. If we change anything, change Kentucky and Florida. The gators are so accustomed to practicing/playing in 90 degree heat, I think it would be to Tennessee's advantage to play them in colder, or at least 70 degree weather.

This might be the 2020 Football Schedule:

vs. Charlotte
at Oklahoma
vs. Furman
vs. Florida
vs. Missouri
at Arkansas
vs. Alabama
at South Carolina
Non-conference game — TBA
at Georgia
vs. Kentucky
at Vanderbilt

I might have to go to Norman in 2020, on a business trip :)

There's still time to back out of that game in Norman and add a home game against a punching bag to the schedule;)

Am I in some type of time warp? I swear we discussed this in a thread with almost the same identical title. Last week.

Okay, so its not identical, just close and it was 3 days ago, not last week. My bad.

Well, looks like "Always Tough" UNCC and Furman will be a welcome sight for CJP and staff.

Seems like before we started hiring pansies as ADs we had pretty decent football teams and had much tougher OOC games. Of course those AD's starting with Hamilton couldn't judge football coaches for sh!t either, so pansies on the schedule was a necessity.

Did you not see Oklahoma on the schedule with Furman? We can't play all great teams plus a tough conference schedule.

Yes, I did, and the sarcasm was in response to Volador; he doesn't seem to be aware that historically Tennessee always scheduled tough OOC opponents. With the expanded number of games, the toll it takes on the team, and the importance of winning, Tennessee doesn't have much choice other than to schedule one good OOC opponent and then some mediocre teams ... just like everybody else. Most don't even seem to schedule teams like OK for their tough OOC games.

I wish Tennessee could drop Oklahoma and add a team for a home game like East Carolina or Western Kentucky and have another sure win

I can't argue with that, but I do hope we keep playing a good OOC opponent like OK every year. It's kinda a shame that a lot of other conferences don't have the number of good teams that the SEC does because I really get tired of the big10 talking about how they don't play FCS teams ... with some of their conference teams, they don't need to because they already play conference teams that should be FCS.

Don't follow, on one hand you want to drop Oklahoma but on the other you want to play 1 good OOC game. These games are made in advance, so there is no way of knowing how good or bad a team will be. I don't want to drop Oklahoma at all. Playing a big ooc game is a good thing. GBO!
