I'm being very detailed in my descriptions not to give someone the thought I am attacking them personally, but as a group, I think the people that want to run Phil off are misguided and just simply WRONG.

Dude, scientology doesn't mean you don't beleive in God. It's kinda like an accessory to other religions, and helps to view them in a different light.

College Coaches are not paid to ONLY win.

It's something they must do to survive, but if they do it by cheating, ending up on probation, they get fired (See Terry Bowden). If they embarrass the University, they get fired (See Mike Price). If they lose control of their program, and only bring in rapists murderers and drug dealers, they would get fired.

That's the problem with you people. You don't understand that it's not all about being able to say your team is a winner and proudly wear your 40.00 sweatshirt and 25.00 hat. It's about being a good man, competing at a level consistant with other comprable programs, and being a steward for the University that the President and the Community can be proud of.

Tennessee doesn't win so YOU ALL can look good and be happy.

"Fans" are being selfish and I'm sick and tired of it.

You guys are right. We need Chris Peterson as the next Head Coach. I think he is the only guy out there that can beat Urban Meyer, Nick Saben, Les Miles. But we as fans how to find a way to make the University realize it and that is who they need to hire. Also, we first have to get Fulmer out of there. What do you guys think?

Not attacking you or anything, but is this opinion a draw out of the hat, or is there actually some legitimate backing to that claim. Last time I checked, Boise State has played a total of 8 ranked teams since 2001 and has a record of 3-5 against them. One of those wins was against OU in the Fiesta Bowl and took a miracle to pull off, and this latest win against a very overrated Oregon team. Peterson might be a very good coach, but nothing that he has done has warranted this overwhelming hype to come in and be the savior of the UT program. That is just my .02

yes, but it's a gamble. given how unwilling we are to put coaches on the chopping block, even when it's long past-due, i'm not feeling very comfortable with a gamble. we need a proven guy, someone we know can win against the level of coaching and talent in the SEC.

Look at it from the perspective of what he has accomplished with the 2-star roster he has vs what he could accomplish with a much more talented team.

You would have to assume that Clawson has total control of the offense before your comparison is valid. No one on this board knows how much our "Clawfense" is being limited by Fulmer/Crompton.

I think Petersen is damn good football coach but I don't think he would be a good fit in the SEC. He will be coaching the Washington Huskies a year from now.

Clawson will be OK, this is a big change for him and I am willing to bet by the end of the year we will all be glad that he is here. I hope that if a new coach is brought in that they keep Clawson around, I don't think we are going to be able to see his offense in motion with because A) Fulmer wont give full control and B) Crompton is not play up to the level expected out of an SEC QB

I know there is a fire fulmer petition,but I think us vol fans who want Chris Petersen should make a petition to hire Petersen.But we need someone who can deliver it to Hamilton.Its a long shot,but our only hope.
