Showing respect for players

Air, nothing will rid them of their frustration. They boo the team on Saturday, complain about the sermon on Sunday, and Mon thru Fri they bitch about how the "man" is keeping them down.

You can take the boy out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the boy.

Good riddance Bammer troll.

I played, and I booed, should I still be ashamed? As for non-former players, you don't have to be an expert in anything to tell when you're seeing crap.

You played at UT? Or you played Junior Varsity? There is a difference.

I would bet you didn't play at UT.

As for not having to be an expert to "tell when you're seeing crap", I would agree. But you would have to be a low-life to take it a step further and boo your own team.

A quick re-cap for new readers:

- If you boo the home team when things go sour, it makes you a very "passionate" person.

- Disliking a team in hard times, and only liking them during good times doesn't make you a "fair weather fan". It apparently makes you a very good fan!

- There is nothing wrong with booing an underdog team when they fall behind and the game is still in reach. It is much more important to vent and make yourself feel better because, dammit, you spent a lot of money on the game to watch them continue to play just like they have in the previous games and not pull an upset!

- Players on the field are able to discern that your boos are exclusively for the coaches, and therefore, it is very good to boo to help get the coaches replaced.

- Since people often criticize the US President, that means that booing the home team is okay since that is far worse. (I'm dead serious...this was in the first 10 pages I believe)

- If the players play bad, it is okay for the fans to look bad as well.

- Even though Manning quietens the home crowd when they boo (in both winning and losing situations) and his negative comments on the subject, we apparently are incapable of discerning how he feels about booing the home team.

- If you don't boo, then it means you accept mediocrity and that you absolutely love CPF!

Check back often as new embarassments come to life in the continuing attempt to rationalize juvenile behavior.

Since we're throwing out resumes and such. What's yours to be telling everyone how to act at a game they paid to see?

What's not on my resume is:

Assist other teams in humiliating my own.
the booing is the reason UF won. I knew it had to be something. Our fans just suck.

Silly me thinking our team and staff had something to do with it.

Florida didn't really need the help. They were doing a pretty good job of it all on their own. Oh, and our team might have had something to do with that too.

At this point, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to act at a game.

We're just laughing at how some of these people try to reason it.

Booing = Venting frustration. Period. It helps nobody but ourselves, but we do it anyway because we're more concerned with making ourselves feel better than doing what is best for the team. This happens at all SEC schools, and always will.

Some people refuse to boo because they don't want to contribute anything negative to the game. Those people are obviously frustrated with the people who are less concerned about the team.

To each his own. I've learned to accept it myself. If you want to boo, have at it. I'll piss and moan to myself, but I'll save my voice for shouting down the gators instead. It's much more fun :)

is it safe to say that the list of things not on your resume is much longer than the list of things on your resume?

If so, it will be much easier for you to simply answer his question, rather than playing a shell game.

Really? What part of "don't boo" is not trying to tell anyone how to act?

Yeah, here we go. Let's go the ad hominem route and attack him rather than his topic. Nobody will pick up on that!!

Negative, sir. Coach31 brought his own history into the conversation to illustrate his point. Not vice versa.

if i pay $100.00 for a ticket to a game, i will boo, leave early, stand and cheer, or whatever else i choose to do. welcome to a football game. booing is part of the game.

Your right man. Booing......now that's classy!!!!!!!

It's simple. If you boo you're one of three things:

1) Classless Redneck/ Hillbilly with the IQ of Gump
2) Are under 10 years of Age
3) Are not a fan of the program - as we boo other teams at home games

You have got to be kidding me! Booing is not that serious. All it means is you are not happy with your coach/teams preformance. When that coach is not EARNING the $3 mill he is getting a year, you let him and the admin. know about it.

Right. Next, they'll ask the players not to hit each other too hard.

I for one fell on the ground and went into seizures when you booed, VolGrad. You will be hearing from my lawyer soon. Booing is very serious, indeed!!!
