'19 TN ILB Christopher Russell (Texas A&M signee)

i think most understood that we may have been too late to the game. that he wasnt a top priority guy early on, and once names came off the board. we made up ground.

it is what it is. maybe he'll still go to TN.

either way. life goes on.
My thought is why waste s four year scholly on this type of recruit? Better off saving it for some one next year if we can. Seems sometimes we settle too much instead of walking away

That’s not the case Forked Deer. I’m waiting on a answer folks. As of noon today, the visit was still on. For I haven’t seen anyone yet, but I’ll get an answer of what is going on tonight. I’ll let you know what is going on.👍
As of one hour ago, this kid was not visiting.

Physically felt a twinge. 😖

This class want going to be "that" class no matter how well it finished. At least not immediately.

It addresses two major needs ol and DB.

Need the 19 season to be better and 20 cycle to be top 10 or better.

This class is good. It's not elite, in total. It has elite elements.... Specifically ol.

The holes are still there though..we pulled “some” good pieces for “some” of our needs starting with the OL.I’m just sayin we ride high and give some of these classes to much credit and expect them to fill out and win more games than we did the previous year.the 19’ class is short of spectacular given they have had a one full year of recruiting,I’m sure we could all agree it’s not what we expected at all but I’m still happy with the class because it’s progress.

Kids weak ass character is showing. Karma is a beotch. If I knew he was this much of a douche I would have never been ok taking him. We had enough of these crap baby attitudes with Butch. Mommy but but dry didn't offer me last summer mommy. Gtfo. I wouldn't expect to see TN coaches waste a trip to that school moving forward.

Don’t just others by this one kid. We will still go to Quay’s school as well.

You're right man. HS kid = College kid.

potato - potato.

It's your world man. YOU wanna roll criticizing kids, that's on you. (or defend those that do), if it makes you feel better about yourself, roll.

I do some coaching and we try to coach up kids in how to handle themselves because coaches and scouts will note real quick guys with issues especially disrespect to coaches, officials and team mates. Seen college and major league scouts note where all other scouts can see things on guys with attitude issues. That was straight from a Cardinals scout.

Here's the deal... About a year ago Crouch was the#1 recruit in the country. He's on campus.

Darnell Wright was#2... He should sign next week. Wanya Morris was#15, he's on campus.

Keyton, grey, mcollough, Harris, Lampley, etc... We're all top 100-150 players.

It's not overstating it to say this is a good class. Which is what people are saying.

Everybody wants more elite players.

We'll need more elite players.

No one will disagree with that. And you can acknowledge that while at the same time acknowledging it's still a very good class.

Those things are not mutually exclusive.

It it ever ok to not wish a kid good luck?

I mean, does any modern human really believe their brainwaves and thoughts have so much power as to actually cause physical reality to change? I mean, outside of the Oprah "The Secret" cult followers.

People were just in the RF debating if this was a top 3, 5, or "as good as any class in the country" last week. Now no Toots and Russ and goons jumpin off of bridges.

Such extremes! Some people need to get some sausage wallet.

I disagree. This class is very similar to classes Clemson has signed in the last 4 years. The fact is, even if we aren’t ranked top 10, after Wright signs the average player ranking probably will be. This isn’t the ceiling or what we hope to get going forward of course, but it is a very good class that has elite players at every positions.
Some just don't understand it, Bass; and, they never will, because they will ALWAYS find something negative, and something to bit*h about...ALWAYS, NO MATTER WHAT. I have said it before, the night we win the National Championship, and it IS going to happen...these same people will STILL be talking about Butch or Dooley or Kiffin, if not all 3 at the same time. There is not a doubt in my mind they will. I'd bet they are the very same way with their everyday lives, as well. So, here in the last few nights, Ive decided to no longer waste my breath or my time responding to them any longer.

They are too blind to see that it's not just 4-8 & 5-7 the last 2 yrs; but, it's also a national perception, by pretty much everyone, including recruits, of being the butt of EVERY SINGLE JOKE in college football, the laughing stock of college football for the last 6-9 yrs. How many recruits have been "surprised" whenever they visit? Several. They just can't believe how awesome Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee truly are...what our program has been in the past, and what it can offer. They have no clue!!!...because all they know about is the losing, champions of life, Greg Shiano, an embarrassment of a coaching search, and being laughed at for it, etc etc. How many countless recruits have talked about Pruitt compared to Butch...and what WAS, compared to what IS?

Also, the local Knoxville media, for the most part, and VQ, and guys of that ilk absolutely do us NO FAVORS. Just take today, and what they've been saying about recruiting the state. I hate to break it to everyone, the 50th best prospect in Georgia, would be a top 10 prospect Tennessee. Period. I hate to say that, I played HS football in TN, my brothers and nephews played, and play, HS football in TN; but, it's the absolute truth, and anyone who doesn't realize it is asleep, and probably doesnt want to be awakened.

Recruits, they ALL love Pruitt and this staff, and what's happening and being built; the culture change is in full-fledge process. We now just have to win to be able to pull some of the ones we've lost BY A HAIR these first two cycles. Recent success and failure on the field has been the ONLY difference when it comes to Henry T, Trezman Marshall, or Justin Eboigbe, and some of the others.

But, as far as these geniuses go, that want to rip a top 15 class, after ALL that has happened to our beloved program, and give their snide remarks about something they couldn't do in a million yrs...just laugh at them, because a laugh is all they're worth, man.

Sorry for such a long diatribe. Take it as a final eff off to those Vol "fans", that we all know too well, unfortunately; and maybe some advice to you, Bass.

Go Vols.
