Because he could be one that’s shown the most physical change and strength change because he was so out of shape. That’s the point...to show how drastically Fitz can shape someone if they’re bought in

Could easily be someone else, though. Seems like it would be more impressive for Fitz to shape someone who has a chance of contributing on the field this year.

Yes someone asked where i was getting weight gain/loss about current players. That’s what i was referencing. MV said someone (implied recently) has made a big transformation physically, lost 31 pounds. I don’t see any one on the “after” list (posted in July) that needs to lose 31 pounds besides Crosby.
Ahhh apologies. I missed the context lol. Thanks for sharing it was interesting to see.

He said since they stepped on campus though, not since July 2018.

Based on that link you’d think it’s Carvin. Has him losing 27lbs (MV said 31 overall was lost).

Also has Eric Crosby’s weight only down 8lbs from 336 to 328. He might’ve lost the remaining 23lbs and he might be the guy MV is talking about. Would love to think he’s bought in and can contribute. In fact I’d prefer it be him.

But if I was a betting man, I’d wager they’re talking about Carvin.
I think it’s just me holding out hope that it’s Crosbt since i would hate to see him never do anything. But if Carvin is throwing around 450 on the bench then thank the lord cause we need him to compete for a starting spot at G this season

If he does well in spring and sticks throughout the summer, then he may be able to provide quality depth in 2019, yes. Not sure why you’d be dismissive of that being a possibility.

RB is 90% ability and instincts. He could play LB for the next two seasons, switch back to RB halfway through his senior year and be fine there.

No way to know if RB really is what he’s best at unless he gets an earnest chance to try out LB.

The kid is a RB. He is not built to be a LB. He is too short. He only wanted over there to try and get playing time because he was in the doghouse from fumbling. Let's not make him out to be something he is not.

To be fair, Banks is 6’2. Who knows if he wanted to try LB or just wanted some PT

Listed between 6’1 and 6’2 on most rosters. How tall do they need to be?

Alright who left the door unlocked?

Oh it was locked....

Debatable. His attitude reminds me of JJ. Would be nice to have a smack talking big hitter on defense.

He’s bigger than JRM was and more athletic than many of the LBs we have right now. We need depth at LB more than RB.

This post is all speculation. We don’t know what he wants or what the coaches want for him.

What we do know is this:

We need better depth at LB, a position which needs development.

We have lots of RBs and it’s a plug and play position.

Absolutely nothing lost by seeing how he does at LB in the spring. If it doesn’t work out, then back to RB in August. 0% downside in giving him a shot there.

I like the way he runs the ball. I think he will be a tough, physical RB if they put him there.
I like his upside at RB more as well and think we need a bigger, more physical back to round out the RB rotation.

I just think giving him spring practice to give LB a shot and see how he does there is a bad move. Worst case scenario, he’s back at RB in fall camp. Best case scenario, we find a more athletic ILB to give depth and push Bituli and DK.

Cool story. Disagree.

JMO. CJP knows more than me by zillions.

Banks is a natural at RB. Just like Evan Berry was at RB and not a S - Botch blew it. Tyler Byrd's future was ruined by the same type thinking. I like players to play their natural position unless they grow physically (naturally) into a different position. That would be like a S growing into a OLB or a DE growing into a DT. The only guy I see on this roster that could play either side of the ball equally well is JJ. Crouch may turn out to be that guy as well.

Nobody would want Banks to be a LB if he had not fumbled so often as a freshman RB. So fix the fumbling. The guy is a hammer.

When he could be working on ball security and getting better at rb. There are skills to be developed at rb, its not as plug and play as you want to think. Especially with a new offensive system to learn.
