Just the way it ran on reminded me of a kid on a sugar rush, especially seeing your user name.It started out as a joke (of course, if a great prospect comes out of Dyersburg, I want him at UT); but, as I thought and typed, I was like, DAMN!!! Holy crap!!! Because all of it is based on everything that has been said in this thread.
Exactly when you go up against the Alabama’s, Georgia’s, Clemson etc you gonna lose out on some recruits. Right now we don’t have the best selling points but they’re looking at us more than they did under butch. I’d much rather have the swing for the fence mentality.Harrison.
Pruitt has alredy addressed the issue of closing. he said it in his press conference on ESD, that closing has to get better.
so i don't think anyone should argue that.
it's the notion that we "passed" on these kids...yeah, we did because we were going after those top shelf guys. which we should.
my question is, if "losing" the in state talent so many apparently covet is so detrimental to our program, does that mean we should employe a completely different strategy? i mean, do you want Eboigbe enough to try or do you take Williams committment in March and "let's ride"?
it's the risk you run when you recruit. you can't take everyone and you're at the mercy of an 18 year old. and you're competing against the best programs in the country.
it's monday morning qb'ing at it's finest, and again, if Williams or Russell were THAT good, they'd of had more suitors earlier in the process. the demand for them right now is purely supply/demand related. and that may wind up hurting us in the end.
so be it. i'd rather keep going after Justin Eboigbe's and Kris Bogle's and Crouch's, and Keyton's, and Morris's and Wright's........................and if htey happen to be in state guys....GREAT.

-Hubbs* Chris Russell — The tide has certainly turned here in the last 48 hours, as Tennessee felt optimistic about its chances of reeling in the in-state linebacker before Jimbo Fisher made his in-home visit with the Dyersburg product. Tennessee has long felt that Texas A&M, not Arkansas, was its primary competition and that belief appears to be justified. Russell really likes the Aggies’ staff, and some in his family do, too. Most importantly, it’s Fisher that has left the biggest impression on Russell over the last month. He took special interest in him during his official visit and has never let up. Russell was supposed to officially visit Tennessee this weekend, but as of this posting, that trip is unlikely to take place. Regardless of whether or not Russell visits A&M unofficially this weekend, if Tennessee can’t get him on campus, then all bets are likely off on landing the 3-star inside linebacker.
Whoa, whoa, whoa...6’1 and 235 as a freshman. Broke every middle school record on the books. Featured RB and middle LB on Freshman and JV . Both went undefeated.
id shut this class down now...and roll wiht 27 in 2020.

That sounds good but sometimes you gotta slow down to go faster. But according to Callahan our plan is to max this class out as much as possible. Could see any remaining spots going to transfers. Pruitt ain't looking to 2022 and beyond ...he wants to win and flip the trajectory asap
