With Simmons leaving, MSU loses 6 of 8 in the DL two deep. They also lose 4 in the secondary.

Just saw that Simmons and Preston Williams won't be invited to the Combine for past transgressions.
Apparently it was because of past transgressions related to violence.

I don’t recall PW having any issues involving violence.

His passing stats actually took a step back this year-- 16 fewer TDs (5 fewer INTs which is good), 500 fewer yards on a few more attempts and completions. He did have a higher completion %, and he ran the ball a bit more liberally this year. Had 6 TDs and a 3.2 ypc average, which is misleading because that includes sack yardage.

Seems like too harsh of a penalty for a tutor misconduct

12 students involved, no mention of the school punishing the tutor or students. School can't escape culpability with blinders or ignorance -- it's responsible for oversight of its program. Sounds like the kind of thing the school must have known about, due to the extent of the cheating, but the NCAA couldn't prove. Hard to believe that none of the 12 never said a word about it to anyone. Makes you wonder what else was going on but couldn't be proved.

Looks like the kind of systemic problem that calls for a serious sanction, though I have no context for what sanction is appropriate.

I read that the tutor got a 10 year show clause.
