Crompton's comment after the game...

What did everyone think of the response that Crompton gave on the effect that the booing had on his teamates? It was something similar to " it doesn't affect us at all. We don't care or play for the fans but play for ourselves".

I understand that they should ingore booers. I know many of us UT fans are really dissatisfied with this years team but to boo them just doesn't seem right to me. We can comment, complain and even call for changes, but booing is just too cruel for me to do.

But the main point of the thread is, even though they should ignore booers, shouldnt they care somewhat about upholding the UT tradition and pleasing the fans in some way?

Ummm...I think that message is very similar to what Al Wilson said to the team. Nothing wrong with that comment, if you want to harp on Crompton there is plenty of on field material.

Next, you will want to take off the pads and play touch football. Gee, emotions are a big part of this game, yes even for the fans.

If it's not for our support of this University, then this team doesn't play in Neyland, get a chance at a good education, or get National exposure that can help propel their future. Yeah, just go play for yourselves and have your teammates pay for your school.

i think it has been relatively well documented that Crompton is not the smartest guy in the world.

Why would you get worked up about this? I doubt there are very many eloquent moments for 20 year olds that have just gotten booed out of a stadium.

What could he have possibly said to make you feel better?

i don't think i've ever had so much optimism for a ut qb be crushed as much as i've had with crompton. i still have a hard time believing how disappointing he's been.

Crompton is easily becoming the worst QB from a performance standpoint and from his PR skills with the fans. How soon can we boot this guy to the sidelines. That is obviously where he has belongs. Crompton, you just go ahead and play for your teammates and the rest of us 100K plus that spends all the money to come see you play will find something more productive to do with our time and our money. You are obviously not worth either.

Anything could have been better than stating that they don't pay attention to us. Hell, in that case we should just be quiet when we are on defense so we don't upset the players.

It's been amazing to watch. I don't think anybody expected him to be All Conference or anything, but it's shocking how much he still looks like the nervous QB that played against Arkansas and LSU 2 years ago.

The difference is.....Against LSU JC played the game to win, earn respect and just had fun. Now that he is the starter, he is playing not to lose, he is trying to do way to much and is not focusing on just playing football. I hate to say this, but I have never felt this bad about a UT starting qb for as long as I remember.

They should remember what a cheer is and what a boo is. They should strive to hear more cheers and NO boos. If you don't then that should tell you that you need to improve.

I'm sure Crompton is well aware how badly they sucked without needing the validation.

I'd love to hear what you think is the perfect answer to the question.

i just don't understand it. whether if it's the coaching, the new offense, or just him in general i don't know. but this was the no. 2 or 3 qb in the nation coming out of high school. it's been shocking to watch how horrible his play has been.

BTW, remember that Hamilton raised ticket prices to help pay for the renovations that this team enjoys EVERYDAY and we don't even get to be a part of it.
