Amateur Hour Continues

Correcting the record, something you are incapable of doing. Here is your chance to be a man and admit to your mischaracterizations of events and details.

That I was mistaken on which thread something entirely unrelated was being discussed and informed said person they could have been right because I was too damn lazy to look it up?

I'm not sure your concept of "correcting the record" collides with mine in this space-time.

If you hate wasted tax dollars I’d submit there’s plenty of other higher impact areas to get upset about. The wall is trivial frankly.

But I guess we could attack the waste one wall at a time...

If you want to give me a line item list of things that I believe could be wasteful, I'd be happy to give you my opinion.

However, this fight is over the tax dollars for the security theater of a wall.

Basically, I peruse other message boards. And the majority of people see this as Trump folding like a cheap suit to Pelosi.

The optics aren't good on it. Basically, the new House has been in session less than a month and Trump already appeared to cave into the Democrat whims on something as seemingly insignificant as the SOTU? What's going to happen when something really significant comes up?

Again, he (or his political advisers) best have planned a way through this or a lot of people will question his ability to perform against the opposition. He has a real narrow window to come up with something other than Tweets on the subject that makes his case that he's not willing to back down on the tough measures.

I'm guessing once Limbaugh, Coulter et al have a chance to lather up the masses over why this is a titanic defeat that makes him look like he has tiny hands, he'll walk it back and try to do his on sotu from the Oval Office or some sh|t.

I'd bet a modest amount that if the immediate White House response to Pelosi's letter had been, "OK, we'll do the speech after the shutdown," hardly anyone would have been talking about it the next day (who really cares when it is?)

But it's all about ginning up conflict these days and "winning."

If Paul Ryan had done the same to barry, the whole DNC media, your favorite Hollywood celebs and all the liberal trash on here would all be screaming "racism"

Thomas Jefferson did it by letter and all Presidents did it that way until Woodrow Wilson started giving it in person in 1913. The last one to give it in written form was Jimmy Carter in 1981 after he got his ass handed to him by Reagan in the 1980 election.

Trump could have invoked Jefferson and done it in crayon to be given to Congress. Again, the Constitution just says "give periodic updates to Congress." Doesn't say how or when. Just that it has to be done.

Interesting history.

Of course it is, his Trayvon statement was ridiculously divisive and opened the door. Obama is trash and his son would be too.
I wasn’t a fan of the statement. But it’s hardly racist. Not like implying “Barry” would be “with the other black guys harassing the white students.”
